I've kept all my consoles and handheld, and most of my games But I also switched to buying digital at my earliest opportunity I was pushing the limits of what I could reasonably store, let alone display So my physical game collection is entirely retro, and will stay that way No new physical media for me Comment from : @ScrapKing73 |

I recently sold my copies of Dark Souls 1-3 Never touched them, don’t think I’d enjoy them if I played them I bought them because of FOMO, but have really enjoyed playing the games I got using the store credit I received Did I recoup my original purchase price back? I don’t even know but three games that I stared at became games I played and enjoyed I really like the concept of cultivation but am so scared to sell and rebuy as I have done so often I am looking at you Def Jam FFNY PS2 Comment from : @jamesp5780 |

My issue is anytime i want to get rid of a collection, like my 3ds collection which i no longer play, there's always just 1 game from that collection that i love so it keeps me from selling I also think its ridiculous to keep an entire collection for just 1 game so im trying hard to tell myself its okay to let the game go 😢 Comment from : @joeyisabsb1 |

Man this hurts I know exactly how I felt after realizing I traded in games I loved to get the next console Having to repurchase them really did only partially fill the hole in my heartbrbrBut for selling games I’m never gonna play again? Games that are highly sought after and extremely valuable (Rule of Rose for example) I really just own it to own it But it’s not like it ever comes up in conversation lol, so I can’t place what it is that makes me hold on Comment from : @residentevilclone |

I use to sell a lot back in the day as I would choose a game just by cover art Great Cover, but boy was that a bad gamebrNow a days I watch videos of other people purchasing games & watch them play No more blind purchasing for this guy! brSo my collection is growing again, but if I do decide to sell again it would only be sold to anyone named, Timmy!! I pretty much did this a few years ago reducing 200-300 games to like 150 and my collection at its largest was still pretty well curated so I can pretty much grab anything and it’s likely to be good I also have flash carts for most of my cartridge based systems Comment from : @SharifSourour |

I live in regret of selling off my old stuff, so I don’t anymore, and some of those accessories I had to part with made some games, especially portable ones incredibly cool! I got matching HORI tough pouch and grips and the no longer in in-stock official Switch lite flip cover They make toting a Switch more practical! I couldn’t part with either of these machines now! It’s ride and die for me! I’d just buy another one anywaybrbrGreat Stuff, as always! Comment from : @mekman4 |

Struggle is real Selling off some but keeping others you know you probably wont play Growing up in the rental days it feels good to have the options, even if you never play it Sometimes just hoping for your friends or your kids to pick up and play that one hidden gem you've been holding onto these years Comment from : @trunksalot2 |
|

The soaring "replacement cost" of buying a game once it's left your possession now, if you changed your mind about it, is what makes many gamers nervous about letting go of parts of their their collection That's yet another way that a hobby that's become a bit too organized and professionalized is leeching the fun out of the experience I do think it's good to give yourself permission to curate and downsize for happiness, space, and quality of life for all the reasons you name, though There is absolutely a clutter-to-space ratio that can make any collection or library a burdenbrbrThe only thing your video didn't mention is that one of the biggest ways to lessen the chance of seller's remorse is to pay close attention to the conditions under which you are selling and how that will make you feel about the transaction later With the obvious caveat that getting rid of bad games you never liked ALWAYS feels goodbr* It feels bad to sell games to pay for routine expenses You're trading joy for not-joy-at-all, which should be avoided if you have better financial options like saving up in advance, spending more responsibly, etcbr* It feels bad to sell games you had genuine fondness for and memories of just to make space, especially if there's some genuine value-add to playing them on original hardware or if you are someone who likes to replay titles Consider whether the limited space is a permanent or temporary state of affairs, and if the latter, maybe try to find creative ways to hang on a bit longerbr* It feels bad to feel like you ripped yourself off by giving away your collection for pennies on the dollar to someone who won't appreciate it For this reason, I NEVER advise the whole "sell the latest console generation and its library to pay for the next one" thing If you do that, you are giving your library away at the very lowest and cheapest it will EVER be and you'll likely hate yourself for it later There are some gamers who might only care about the newest thing and never look back, but I doubt they would be watching this or any other video game channel with "Retro" in the titlebrbrSo, yes -- definitely give yourself PERMISSION to sell games, as feeling you are never able to do that creates a slew of problems But always put up an emotional weather balloon to make sure the conditions are right to ensure you won't just be creating seller's remorse and long-term pain for short-term gain Comment from : @baronhausenpheffer |

I see your point with consolidating games, but for me I prefer consolidating consoles Instead of having a PS1 and a PS2, why not have a back compat PS3 so you don’t have to take so much space up with three different consoles Also, you still get to keep all the games you play for each respected console, meaning no guilt in selling off your collection :) Comment from : @justinmacchiaverna4028 |
|

I considered it Took me about 3 seconds and immediately decided the answer was NO brlol brGood video! Comment from : @tcgdarren5865 |

Hey Retro Bird, I'm, a hypochondriac, and I have too many eggs in my sack I was wondering if batteries in nes games are anything to worry about?
