22 minutes for 10 cards? Comment from : @xDreyvius420 |
There is no argument if Mana Drain is the second best counter spell in the game Like, which other counterspell besides force of will is any competition? There is really only the argument if Force or Drain is the #1 Comment from : @denissinner4625 |
Yeah, power creep has hurt Serra Angel, but we all know the reason why the Alpha--Fourth Edition printings are in demand and every other printing is not Comment from : @gwikeh |
Watched a couple of these top 10 videos and gave the 👍🏻 YouTube is flooding my feed with these and I'm here for all of it Comment from : @bojuka_bob |
How did you pronounce number 4 😂 Comment from : @rjphilla |
I remember our old store had like 20 Su-Chi's in the binder for about $1 apiece They couldn't give them away I bought one and threw it in a casual deck with large bodies After it got hit with Wrath of God and I took the mana burn, I took it out and haven't thought about it since I just saw this video Comment from : @hitmangfx7162 |
somehow i have a feeling i have those cards (not those top 3, 2 and 1 though) but I just threw it in the storagebrmaybe I'll have to dumpster dive again Comment from : @destructorv2 |
It’s always been called, ‘car-aak-us’ Comment from : @magicsinglez |
My God Ancient Tomb sold for 10 cents or something for a couple of years Comment from : @magicsinglez |
Theres a new Su-chi but its an 8 mana 8/8 vigilance ward 2 and when he dies he gives back 8 mana not 4 Comment from : @HelminthCombos |
I still own an Ancient Tomb I found it in a card shop in a pile of refusal cards It has 'Dust Bowl' written on it Somebody clearly used it as a proxy as was done with it brbrGood times Comment from : @Pistoolkip |
Why does price matter on EDHrec you can just create any deck list you want Comment from : @Ambushw23 |
I'm curious as to how a "cheapest card" list could be made Top Ten Bulk Rares, maybe? Comment from : @toastghost9145 |
Prrices of Card kingdom are what you get when someone just put random numbers in place of a price for a card Comment from : @seijhik |
Transmute Artifact is one of those cards that I wish would be reprinted just to have a version with much simpler text Comment from : @jonothanthrace1530 |
Ok, so your kinda wrong in a weird way, rare cards were not introduced until legend’s so wouldn’t the list just be dominated by power 9? Comment from : @bushwagg_YT |
Totally worthless rares might be interesting Love seeing that a couple Fallen Empires cards actually made this list So many of the old ones from my first years of playing are soo terrible by todays standards Since the Dark, Fallen Empires, and 3rd edition were the cards I first started playing with, I always try to slip in a few cards from these sets into newer stuff, but most can't even compete Serra Angel and Sengir Vampire the staple creatures of the time, both flying, 4/4, having special abilities, 5 casting cost, and 2 devotion You used to be able to look at a card and know what it should cost to cast Now I think they just roll the dice when creating cards Comment from : @CruentusDK1 |
I was pretty chuffed when I found 2 Transmute Artifacts in my random cards that I came close to giving away The $700 AUD I got for selling them helped get me through covid MTG cards save lives :) Comment from : @edwardfearan5708 |
Enlightened Tutor was in 6th Edition aswell Comment from : @Kommander |
I disagree about the sets that "technically have no rares" There was no rare sheet, but cards could appear on the uncommon sheet exactly once, making them rare by any definition, or several times, making them less rare These cards clearly are the rarest cards in these sets, some sources simply call them rares, while others differentiate between U1, U2 and U3 Comment from : @kurtilein3 |
Su-Chi was played in Vintage for quite a while in a Mishra's Workshop / Survival of the Fittest deck called TnTbrbrAlso excellent video, thank you for making it Comment from : @razvanz27 |
Basically a list of ‘uncommons’ only because WoTC didn’t really have rarity understood at that point haha brbrWould like to see a top 10 list of uncommons that doesn’t count cards pre-modern era Comment from : @JoyousOblivion |
If I ever play again, I'll build a baller EDH and pauper deck And that's it I'm serious And even that won't happen until I'm gainfully employed for at least a year Comment from : @chriszablocki2460 |
Man this hurts Back around 2010 sold BOTH my Library of Alexandria and Bazaar of Baghdad for $550 Only reassuring thought is that nothing lasts forever That includes humans and paper cards 🃏 Comment from : @SerpentStar_ |
I kind of love the sword and shield icons from Portal sets I'd happily see them on all cards Comment from : @apjapki |
How about top ten non RL cards only printed once Like Personal Tutor Comment from : @SpitefulAZ |
lol nizza'a caracas pronunciation strikes again Comment from : @FransLebin |
I remember buying my FoWs for $5 each Those were the days Comment from : @omnivision616 |
Whats with Sorceress Queen? Comment from : @NightfallTH |
@Nizzahon during #3 you mentioned the reserve list, and wizards keeping their promise I'm curious if you have an output on how you'd feel if they did abolish the lost Comment from : @stevenrhodes8338 |
Who can complain about #1, NICE! Comment from : @darylarmentrout252 |
Top of the list just shows that Reserve List is a lie! Even more recently Dockside Extortionist showed that reprints can't hurt some cards (especially if there's a different art variant) Comment from : @nikolamatasin3877 |
Cara-Kaas Comment from : @googleplusisterrible4837 |
Karra-kos? Really? Comment from : @ComixMultiplication |
I own an Antiquities Su-Chi, but I'm never going to sell it because I just love the card Comment from : @SerathDarklands |
Note: Demonic Tutor actually was on the reserved list until the list was revised in 2002, when any and all commons and uncommons from ABU were removed as per player demand Comment from : @TheFaithfulAtheist |
Watching this made me go look into my portal 1 binders Found 3 mint and 1 near mint personal tutors Found the cruel and slyvan ones too Not as valuable but still good Thanks man Almost forgot I had these Comment from : @MichaelSmith-fm5ln |
I really expected force of will to be number one but I forgot that you're counting the most expensive printing not the cheapest printing Comment from : @JohnSmith-hs9ez |
#1 proves that the reserve list is unnecessary Comment from : @raynmanshorts9275 |
I can't believe Mana Drain was an uncommon! Comment from : @rfs8194 |
One thing all of these cards share (except Serra Angel, which really is $004 of course) is that they've never been reprinted at uncommon Most were upshifted to outright mythicsbrbrBecause, you know, WOTC totally isn't looking at the secondary market when designing reprint sets "for limited" It's just that cards like Force of Will, Ancient Tomb and Enlightened Tutor would be warping those formats, those are notoriously strong in limited, right? That's the only reason, honestly Believe them Comment from : @frankvandorp2059 |
Everytime I see one of these price episodes I have to go check my old collection in the attic and see how many of them I have Lol Comment from : @jonnymmac |
I had no idea Sylvan LIbrary or Mana Drain were uncommon Comment from : @joelmonteiro1419 |
Fun interaction with Sylvan Library is if you dredge all three cards, you don’t have to pay ANY life If you dredge two cards, you have to put the drawn card back unless you pay four life; if you only dredge one card, you have to pay four life for each of the cards you drew Comment from : @crawdaddy1234 |
You missed tieing in grinding station with krark clan iron works Comment from : @darthanakinII |
When I saw that KCI was only number ten I audibly "oofed" Comment from : @IzzysIssues |
Easily could have retitled this to most expensive uncommons in vintage Comment from : @EMSWK |
I hope a new Top 10 Counterspells is on the horizon :D Comment from : @ringoderbar1522 |
Top 10 idea: Most misplayed cards Comment from : @gerudo4sale861 |
Cool video! brI never noticed that it's EDHRec I kept thinking you were saying EDH Rack 😂🤣😂 Comment from : @rjphilla |
First time I played against manna drain was imprinted on isochron scepter Comment from : @codyregan8462 |
More like a top 21 ;) Comment from : @evilpooky |
The Old School format has influence on these prices as well Su-chi is played a lot there Comment from : @PeterClausman |
I think there is also an Ancient Tomb in From the Vault: Realms Comment from : @nycstreetpoet |
"assuming they keep their promise" Comment from : @savingstumps |
The only life point that matters is your last one Comment from : @cax1175 |
When the tomb is ancient Comment from : @cax1175 |
I ripped an Ancient Tomb expedition land out of a pack myself To this day I believe that's the most expensive card I've ever pulled myself Prior to that it was an original Tour Guide from the Underworld from an Extreme Victory pack back when I still played Yu-Gi-Oh Comment from : @tym6217 |
I have a question, if you milled Su-chi, did you still get the mana? Comment from : @besslerclement3811 |
so i've been pronouncing Karakas wrong this whole timeNew set review coming out tomorrow? Comment from : @MatthewCushing |
It warms my heart that the top cards in this list are there not because of the Reserve List but because of pure nostalgia and love for the game In the end, MtG is not really just about busted cards and pretty jewelry but being able to do cool stuff like summoning angels, consulting demons and fiery donuts Comment from : @mikotagayuna8494 |
The Reserved List, disallowing newer not rich players from using a large amount of game pieces Comment from : @gilliganallmighty3 |
All you need with the Ironworks is 2 Retrievers and Disciple of the Vault You have infinite life loss Throw in Leonin Elder and you have infinite life gain Comment from : @brandontankersley8107 |
Could you re-do all of these price lists at some point, but using the cheapest version of each card instead? Because no-one in their right mind would ever call Serra Angel an "expensive uncommon" overall These lists get kinda boring when we know the most expensive of anything will just be an expensive Alpha version or Judge Promo of an everyday cheap card, or something on the Reserved List But it'd be way more interesting knowing what's the most actually-expensive card even if we were searching for the cheapest version of a card to put in a deck Comment from : @andrewsparkes6275 |
Nice to see Ancient Tomb is so sought-after My Tempest, never used ("2 damage? waaaaaay to much" cit: kid myself), still in the book, is aging well 🙂 Comment from : @filipzo |
you mentioned krark-clan ironworks a lot as of late Comment from : @antimattered3921 |
I had a playset of Su-Chi's in my Enduring Renewal deck once :') Comment from : @Pehr81 |
Would be probably a good idea to split such lists into two parts: modern and pre-modern era Since it is interesting to see cards outside of vintage and legacy, like fatal push or expressive iteration, but such lists are indeed utterly skewed to older sets No chances for modern expensive uncommons Comment from : @dagdet |
Every once in a while Nizzahon just sucker punches you by pronouncing a card in a way you’ve never heard someone pronounce it Comment from : @Xenagos |
At 15:00 you say that we probably notice a price jump But the prices shown are the same as before, just the names of the cards are different So there obviously was a mixup when creating the black box on the right The real prices, as shown later, are indeed higher, but by the point you say we should have noticed that, those higher prices are not yet revealed :D Comment from : @holgerchristiansen4003 |
I'm glad I got the Beta Serra Angels when I did $100 For the pair Comment from : @Milkybetrayal |
11:04 2/3, not 3/2 Comment from : @kjmergen |
What's interesting about Sol Ring is that it has a huge price disparity between the original printing and later printings You can get a copy of it today for roughly $150, but the Alpha version is still very expensive It shows that you can make staples affordable to normal players without damaging the value of the collectibles Comment from : @nathaniverson9159 |
In my native card game of YuGiOh, it's rare for cards to even break $100 Let alone bthousands/b But you know what's rarer? "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)" Comment from : @TheGloriousLobsterEmperor |
To be honest because I am a budget player If I were running an angel deck, I would use a reprint of Serra angel in it Comment from : @heath1948 |
List idea Most expensive sets/products that have at least 1yr old Comment from : @diegoblin9090 |
