We got a 1932 D in change at a gas station sometime in the early 1960's in the Eastern US when I was a kid, but its condition is so poor, it's practically illegible I've never seen an old silver coin that looks like it's been wire brushed Maybe somebody took a dislike to it when they saw it It was the first year of the Washington Quarter Dollar I am not even sure if it's a 'D' or an 'S' mint mark

Now you are talking about a field I've got lots of knowledge upon So I found that on Quarters if minted an S over D Or the other way around, its to cover the original mint mark most often So I've found that if this has occurred on a quarter the quest is on So Ss over a D are or can be a bit harder to know Its in the pairs of Dies and finding points that are visible to both the Reverse and Obverse ! The Denver date, as to the numeral 2 is different than that used on the 1932s first issue, it was going to be a one year type, that's obviously a blink as to looking back almost a century later The 1932 S has a different 2 as its noticeable if magnification also helps The Bust of Washington is also different and an S / D has several areas on both sides of this coin so put

Some people collect error coins and counterfeits I got unstuck quarter from a fresh bank roll back in the nineties That went in my pocket dang fast I had a $5 bill that had oddly bright colors I thought it had been stained from being in the laundry I tried to pass it off at the San Mateo Bridge but it was rejected by the toll taker I spent it a a Taco Bell in Foster City Later my friend said he'd give me face for it but I'd spent it

The "S" is not shaped correctly, and the darkening around the mint mark is troubling But even a genuine example looks a bit strange to the uninitiated The mintmark looks like it's down in a little well
