The best example of the church giving to the poors in their congregations is from Kevin Zadai As far as I am concerned he is the only one who does not take an offering proclaiming it is a seed that will multiply, but he gives to struggling single parents and their children Because he does that, and I believe he is the only one doing it, against all that I was taught, it is possible that you are right In our times of struggle, we would give and it would increase our misery Once I had no more milk for my son and after we prayed for God to help us, someone gave us £5 but insisted for us to get the tape of that conference and unfortunately we went along with it because that poisoned teaching on giving your last mite was affecting us I am not proud of the stupid financial choices that we made in the church

Interesting supposition I think its a comparison On one hand, you have those masquerading as pious, who exploit others for personal gain All men see their showy deeds and greet them with salutations- contrasted to the widow, who gives up the little she has and lives exclusively by faith Her deeds go by completely unnoticed to those of this world but not by God brIn a sense, lets take a journey See all this? It'll be torn down See this body? It will be rebuilt in 3 days See this religious icon? you're looking in the wrong place, the widow is the icon etc

It seems that you interpret scripture correctly many times but on these passages I think if you examine more thoroughly you might see that the older traditional thought is correct and is not pointed at the teachers, but at the rich who have become idotalorsbrbrIf you examine the NEXT passage after the devouring widows houses you'll see that Jesus Goes on to speak of the Proselytes that are TWO TIMES the the child of hell the teachers HE is rebuking this is the idolaters Jesus has shifted the discussion to-->brbr15¶Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves

Honestly, this verse being truthfully and faithfully examined brings me so much relief I love Christ with ny whole heart, and praying He grows and purifies that love for Him But I've felt guilty and ashamed of not being able to tithe because br it was all I could do to put gas in my car to drive to work (let alone, buy groceries) This brings clarity, and a breath of relief Thank you, I will pay closer attention to God's Word!!
