Most mechanical engineers in Michigan were just techs who got promoted into the title They rarely innovate and when they run into problems, they just call the suppliers/manufacturers to come up with solutions Degree holding mechanical engineers, can innovate, change systems and processes and get paid much much higher and get promoted into important management positions For example, at my plant which only makes axle tubes, there's a guy who, with the help of techs and operators, runs new models of axles (like the flange shifted 1mm or something lol) and helps with the PPAP He threatened to leave so they made him an engineer They "made him an engineer" Comment from : @ahopefiend1867 |

Just changed majors from mechanical engineering to computer engineering after just finishing my 4th semester of college I'm going to be a bit behind but really not as behind as you'd think A quick tip for high schoolers: the first year of engineering school is almost always the same for all engineering majors and the second year is very similar for most If you like solving problems and don't mind maths, pick some form of engineering and explore everything your freshman year There's something out there for everyone and anyone can do engineering school if they put their mind to it Comment from : @ryanbreighner7408 |
