 I don't recall ever seeing any of these medals shown on youtube before! They look to be 90 gold with silver being the other 10 instead of gold Very bright yellow!

 Nice art medals The art medallions were minted as the US Mint's response to the Krugarrand Unlike the Krugarrand, the art medallions were never popular The reason why the art medallions were so unpopular is because the process to order the medallions is quite burdensome Customers would have to call the US Mint for pricing and would have to send their payment through the post office In addition, most people would rather own their gold in the form of legal tender coins rather than medallions Thus, the American gold Eagles replace the medallions in 1986 The US Mint packaged the arts medallions in styrofoam boxes I believe the Helen Hayes is the key date and commands a small premium over the other medallions in the series My favorite art medallion is the 1/2 oz Frank Lloyd Wright I've handled a couple of Grant Wood medals at my LCS a few weeks ago
