At first we focused on debt, but when we only had my student loans left to pay off we began to save and pay off debt I think one should do both at the same time b/c emergencies always come up

Love this video! This is exactly how we changed things up a few months ago Instead of going full force paying off debt we have decided to build our emergency fund even more and invest a bit more Our only debt is a zero interest loan

We have one last debt (2018 car) with a relatively low payment ($240), but we are prioritizing savings We saved up and paid cash for a new furnace and A/C ($9800) last month We also have a goal to pay cash for a large deck/patio redo and to build our emergency savings to at least 3 months I continue paying a bit extra to the debt but also throw a good chunk to our savings goals brWe followed Dave Ramsey before too and I could never get past stopping retirement contributions I reduced my contributions but never fully stopped I don’t think that change slowed us down much if anything
