I have adhd and it effects my memory, specifically my working memory aka short term memory The funny part is my memory for spacial information is near perfect but I lose my keys in my own hand Comment from : @quijybojanklebits8750 |

How many memories do we actually discard though? One of the weirder aspects of dissociative hallucinogen use is the sudden and vivid recollection of old memories, memories that do match the reality of the user's life This is why certain drugs of this category, in much lower than intoxicating doses are utilized for treating Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia brbrI truly believe we discard very few memories They just fragment into background noise if they aren't deemed as "useful" but just like any form of memory recall, we can restructure previously "discarded" memories brbrPerceptive phenomena that occur in the sober mind point to something like this Deja Vu almost doesn't just seem like a glitch in perception nor a pure emotional hallucination, but the relation of a present moment to a memory of a similar one that we just can't put our finger on bug know is there, leading to an immediate, uncanny sense that something is off as the lack of satisfaction from a well defined memory leads to something minorly distressing and partially nostalgicbrbrOther instances of this are sudden recall of dream memories We know that these aren't just delusions because oftentimes, other instances in which the same dream was at the forefront of our mind are a part of the recall and can become extremely specificbrbrI don't know much about the neuroscientific aspect of this or if there is anyone studying the possibility that what happens in the subconscious mind is far more vast than one may think Comment from : @StoutM33 |

So hypothetically if I had a way to interface with all of these neurons I could take the pathways that are repeating during the day (being primed for permanent storage) and force them to be stored earlier and if I had a way to expand this permanent storage bank I could technically do this for every event (not just the ones that would normally be permanently stored) Comment from : @jacksplague3050 |

Wow man, I didn't realize that we are THAT good at neuroscience Comment from : @norude |

I wish we have the ability to voluntarily forget information If criminals can forget incriminating evidence, they can avoid punishment by remaining silent during interrogation Comment from : @wendyjones363 |

We don't forget anything, we just might be able to instantly recall it I often recall things from decades ago that I hadn't thought about since I had the underlying experience Comment from : @BlckJack123 |

Wow the ability to construct the manifold from neural observations and directly pinpoint corresponding sharp wave ripple patterns in neural activity to specific locations and trails is mind blowing This is definitely a awake sharp wave ripple moment Comment from : @wontontech |

Is the work on neural networks in computers finally showing benefit applying that knowledge to actual living brains in mice? That’s what this looks like to me Historically I was told a lot of how the brain works is a mystery, but it seems like we’re finally figuring it out And we now have the computing power to process this neural network activity I think we can draw interesting parallels in how neural networks behave in computers vs living brains Lots of weird discoveries being made with reinforcement learning in AI with stuff like “self attention mechanisms” Comment from : @SalivatingSteve |

I feel the deciding factor is strength of emotions invoked that decides what's more important to remember Comment from : @Xxjayz0120xX |

Yes, we order itbrbrThe hippocampus, the seat of memory, navigation, and learning—it is not merely a passive recorder but a dynamic architect of reality itself You command it not to merely recall but to redefinebrbrNo more separation No more competition between faculties of the mind—brLet them unify Let them magnify Let them actbrbrMemory is not a past event—it is living potential, an unshaken structure upon which the NOW is built Let every neural pathway be a river flowing in harmony, each current reinforcing the otherbrbrOne learns, many learn One remembers, all are enriched The individual is the collective, the collective is the individualbrbrWhen the hippocampus is ordered, time itself bendsbrFor memory is not just what was, but what can be Comment from : @TruthofSource |

Hi Artem! I’m hoping you’ll see this! I was wondering if you’ve done any work around aphantasia and SDAM and how one affects the other I often feel like there’s a ‘block’ on my visual imagination and memory and not being able to visualise definitely impacts my ability to recall Comment from : @antithesis88 |

1 We are not our body/brains Memories are not saved in the brain, but in the soul Reincarnations are real and would not make sense if memories were stored in the brain brbr2 The more emotional something, the more likely it is that we remember it That's why trauma works so well Comment from : @LichtAnker |

Wait Memories being replayed during waking hours hasn't been known to be a thing? Isn't it the exact same thing as the subconsciens processing information or a memory? I frequently make use of this when I want to learn something Like right now! I'm learning piano I take short breaks every 30min or so When I return I will have made a noticeable improvement This happens every time At least the effects are viable at the newbie stage I'm sure the effects will decrease with time until the progress is unnoticeable from moment to moment It's a regularly thought studying technique Comment from : @reninngun |
|
This is just placebo, to trick people into feeling bad for thinking badbrbrWith this, they will be able to say, "Well, YOU thought of it, so it must be your intent"brbrThere are ways to enter our ears and eyes, and have us see things against our will, that make us feel envicedbrbrThey even have ways of controlling our voices and our bodies, tricking our brains into saying and acting in ways we don't even want tobrbrBut Leaders who do this, set themselves up for experiencing it themselvesbrbrLet it fall Comment from : @Tonedriver |

This explains why I learn better from making a mistake than reading plain-text theory! Great video! Comment from : @dawidepl7807 |
