Sure the top 1 may pay the most in taxes, but at a completely unfair level With the amount of tax breaks they get, on top of the illegal tax evasion that i would argue most of them do, it does not affect them the same it does the middle class The poor class do get a lot of benefits as well I think the ones that really get screwed over in this country are the lower-middle class by far They make too much money to qualify for government assistance, but they dont make enough net income to survive at all For example, my girlfriend and i collectively earn about 75k a year gross and dont qualify for govt aid and also can barely make due
