I think SW combined with GMRS is a good idea for that bad day we hope never will happen I am comfortable with the many options you have reviewed for the GMRS RADIOS (I have a Bao Feng hand held HAM but no license to go with it) There is a wide price range between the SW radios you have reviewed Is there some thing in between these 2 good “toy radios” and the $500 radio you reviewed?
