I believe the retirement crisis will get even worse Many struggle to save due to low wages rising prices and exorbitant rent With home ownership becoming unattainable for the middle class American, they may not have a home to retire to either Comment from : @WilliamTurner-od5ij |

Julia, Im 5 years out and trying to more than double to nail my goal of 2 mill after tax however believe it or not My Investment house has a hard time keeping up with our deposits because we get paid weekly and we save weekly , Im on my third institution over the years Im not moving again, the Managed accounts seem to trade once even 30- 45 days my CFP says its not typical a couple to save weekly and is working on a solution for us to be more efficient, I get frustrated because were doing our part to save but there slow to react to deposits and timing of the deposits and pullbacks am I asking for to much , if Im saving 100K a year broken up weekly I don't understand the problem , should I pound the table ? " I said what do other people do? " the response I got was its not typical , curious what your thoughts are ? Comment from : @NickGiordano-zu4em |

One summer, over an 8 week period, I offered my boys $1/week to do 100 push-ups, and I'd double it each successful week At first, they weren't impressed with my offer until I showed them the $128 prize I was trying to figure out how to motivate them the entire 8 weeks Compound interest! Am retiring next year but the thought of retirement gives me weakness My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you never imagined to happen It's so difficult for people who are retired and have no savings or loved ones to fall back on Comment from : @BraydenSmith-f8e |

I’m 53 in April, starting investing a little bit in my late 30s and kept increasing a little every years or so I have a decent start but want to really put the pedal to the metal for the next 10 years and invest about 25 of my salary I’ve been working really hard at not spending and paying off debt I look FORWARD to retirement! My mortgage was high at 6 & 675 and when it came down I did refinance 3 times which meant i ended up paying for the refinance costs These are up all my savings which would have gone for retirement 😔 Comment from : @jayg6434 |

Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got to talking about investment and money I started investing below the $100k mark and in the first 2 months, my portfolio was reading $234,800 Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest a huge percentage of my profit and it got more interesting! For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home at the beginning of summer Comment from : @Bestjudy001 |

Trump plans on eliminating some taxes specifically SSI Let's see what happens when he implements his plans to turn this country BACK into the powerhouse we once were Questionwe can no longer invest in our Roth BECAUSE there is an income rate cap which we surpassed, but you are saying that we can invest the annual max in a 401K ROTH? How does that work given we can't invest in our regular roth TIA Comment from : @BoxMountainLLC |

Most Americans find it hard to retire comfortably amid economy crisis Some have close to nothing going into retirement, my question is, do I pull cash from my 401k and buy a house, or spread my money in stocks for cashflow? At married & 55 I'm doing a decent job of saving in retirement accounts (approx $650k) but our debt is too high and I can't seem to whittle it down I don't want to stop saving in order to pay down CC balances but also find side income unrealistic (a professional working at Domino's on the weekends? I like your idea that if you pay something off (home, car), put that payment towards retirement I definitely can’t afford to put 10 of my nest egg amount per year into my retirement accounts Good to know there is a formula though Hoping for NVDA, TSLA and about a dozen other similar stocks to average more than 10 per year over the next few years Comment from : @deborahb277 |

I kept saving in my 401k for last 30 years and people kept saying it would balloon in later years It's not really unfortunately Maybe the target fund just wasn't aggressive enough to but I lost quite a bit in 2008 so had to catch up again I guess Now I'm saving around 40 a year for last 2 years and starting to see some headway Want to retire end of next year I'm hoping Thanks for the video Comment from : @onlywenilaugh6589 |

I fully support the idea to keep saving but nothing can guarantee how much it will grow The 7 may be an average but doubling your balance would for example not have worked during the Great Recession, still in a longer than 5 years timeframe you would have done well since you would have been investing at lower pricesbrOne thing I applaud is the advice to save in Roth, even if you are already in your higher earning years 5 years before retirement (many would advise against it) Yes, your taxes may be quite high upfront, but the Roth funds will have many more years to grow if you withdraw from Roth last Also, if you happen to retire before 65 and you need ACA subsidies to lower your healthcare costs, Roth monies can help you keep your income low for a few years if you don’t have cash or a large taxable account You can later partially replenish with Roth conversions after 65 Of course, the latter works if you already have a healthy Roth balance enhanced by those last 5 years before retiring Comment from : @J-2024-v8i |

I've been really interested in the strategies to maximize savings in the 5 years before retirement I've been considering cryptocurrency as a way to diversify my portfolio and outpace inflation I've heard about a platform called My Digital Money that allows you to securely trade crypto in a tax-advantaged IRA Have you ever thought about it? I've found it to be a great way to incorporate crypto into my retirement plan Comment from : @charmcrypto824 |

So many refer to doubling, and 12 in the stock market, etc, but my 403b is lucky to pull 5 - 7 when you look at the years were it was negative growth The majority of growth has been employer employee contributions, not market growth I don't know who is getting their 12, but it isn't me for sure Comment from : @dwaynemauk566 |

Some flaws Tax deferred means more $ invested Let’s say you are taxed at 25… that is additional $ working for you over a period of time Also when you retire you need less $ so you will most likely be in a lower tax bracket Just do the math based on your situation Comment from : @DEEZEEMTB |

I'm 59, I was able to set up a ROTH last year after spending most of my life earning very little, and being unemployed for 6 years until a year and a half ago! Whatever savings and retirement funds I had were exhausted during my unemployment period when I had become unemployable and my job had become to look for work, which in retrospect was a lot of work! I had paid off my student loans during my academic "career" and don't use credit cards I had to close my bank accounts because I ran out of money and had to borrow from family and friends to survive! But I got lucky and was hired by a biotech startup as their chief biochemist post pandemic! I have been granted 45K options in the company and am vested at 35 I don't own anything and don't have a family, I sacrificed all of that for my education and "career"! In my ROTH I contributed $7500 for 2023 in December and $8000 In June for this year The value of my ROTH is now at $16,618 and I have also just put another $8000 in my regular brokerage account and I think I can put in another $20-30K in that account by the end of the year I am very impatient, how do I speed things up? I don't know how long this job will last, or if it will be my last job! I don't know if the company will be of any value if and when we will go public! I am tired of living minimally, I have been living minimally my entire life! I want the life other people take for granted, I am tired of waiting and being frustrated! I wanted to buy my first house someday, but I don't know if that is even possible! Also, If I retire at 67, SS will pay me only $1,327! Comment from : @DanielGonzalez-cs8pr |
