Let me blow your mind further Sometimes the Pharma company lies and uses misleading research to overvalue the cost of an item brbrLook at what 'corporations' did to tallow, replacing natural ingredients with seed oils for profit This isn't just medical supplies, this is: food, agricultural and pharmaceutical Comment from : @Loronline |

Why don’t pharmaceutical companies just reduce the list price to make drugs more affordable? Rather than paying rebates to insurance companies - it would cut out the insurance company and the pharmaceutical companies would make the same as if they were paying a rebate Comment from : @AlbertSeagram |
How about a simple solution to this problem: Congress needs to repeal the single line passed in the 1987 Medicare Amendments that exempts GPOs ( an exemption later extended to PBMs) that exempts them from the Medicare Anti-fraud and kickback statute brbrBecause these organizations do pay kickbacks to directly incentivise those persons (and not necessarily their companies or employers) who sign the service contracts brbrThese legal kickbacks (aka rebates) would be a great topic for a follow up video by the WSJ Comment from : @norman3605 |

Here is something that never factors into these discussions, and it's a MAJOR point concerning the costs of medications I used to work for a large pharma company, on the manufacturing side On average, the cost of a drug, from development, all the way through completion of the drug trials, is around 500 - 600 million dollars On average, a company will see 1 in 20 of it's drugs make it to market So you have 100's of billions of dollars spent with zero returns on that money Myself, I wonder why drugs aren't more expensive than they are now Comment from : @snakedoktor6020 |
All of this was good except for the conclusion The patients don't pay the list price in almost all situations Comment from : @SpencerKimber |

Pharma is killing those that really need the drugs all for their profit This video also forgot to mention that the pharmaceutical companies pay doctors a profit for prescribing the drug in the first place I’ve refused drugs because of the high costs - so I’m one of millions trapped into not getting full medical benefits of care Pharma doesn’t care about the health of people Doctors like the profit they make, so they push the drugs, but can’t force anyone to take the drugs So if a patient can’t afford it, they can easily say - “well I told them they should have taken this drug to save their life, but they didn’t - so se la vie” Frustrating for everyone except Pharma Comment from : @Tigerroux |
I don't pay anything for the many medications that I must take and I don't pay anything for my other healthcare This is because I have Medicaid I have many medical conditions, so I must see doctors about once a week I was hospitalized three times in 2019 I am 69 years old and I have been disabled for my entire life Comment from : @edwardbranca54 |
Drug prices have grown so high because of Zionist Jews plain and simple Comment from : @3rdaxis649 |
Absolutely a rigged system and deceptive accounting! And why one person pays more than another is - greed Comment from : @BoydGilbreath |
It seems like the video is missing something, like government policy or regulation on intellectual property rights for drugs/R&D Comment from : @Alduinsshadow148 |
Although it isn't a panacea, shopping around for drugs can dramatically reduce your cost at times Every pharmacy I have ever called has answered my questions regarding price, and I have always gone to the cheapestbrbrAnd whenever I get prescribed something like prescription strength ibuprofen, I buy the cheapest generic OTC and take enough to meet the prescription dosage Comment from : @usandmexico |
The supply chain for producing Pepsi is oversimplifiedbrbrAlso, did Pepsi pay WSJ to advertise their product? Comment from : @usandmexico |
Many would blame several things But the real monster behind all these are:br1 Price controls of any measure are a cancer to the consumerbr2 Over extended intellectual property rights based on nonsensebr3 Licensing requirements for pharmacies, therefore limiting placementbrChange that and BOOM, end of half health costs in the world Comment from : @jlizbardo |
Just make rebates and kickbacks of any kind ilegal and will force the chain to reorganize Comment from : @1Esteband |
Very well laid out for an individual or class In no way is this “straightforward”, but the use of explanations and examples helps the audience understand more Glad I got to see this and now I can engage in more educated debates on the topic and do more advanced research Comment from : @loganmarquis7378 |
Wow! This is so confusing Comment from : @ChristianCarpesoChannel |
Now do a video on how, why and who made this thing to happen in the first place Comment from : @theblukatlife |
