my friend changed my layout to dvorak but i didn’t know how to access every letter and i had an essay later that day and the keyboard they provided didn’t work so i had to type on dvorak but like i said i didn’t know how to access every letter so i had to ask him to change it back

I have never been amazing at typing but since my stroke my last 3 fingers on my right hand don't really work so I may try a different keyboard layout when I set up my PC, although I do illustration & stuff so I need my shortcuts set up for query

Alternative keyboard layouts have been so intriguing to me, I've been typing QWERTY my whole life, since I was 9 I became real fast, reaching over 100WPM by the time I was 11, even on my phonebrbrbut the idea that I could theoretically hit much higher WPM on better layouts is so drawing to me I like the way qwerty moves my fingers now, I find it really satisfying But I do want to see what I can achievebrbrThe ultimate goal would be a stenography keyboard honestly, even though I have no interest in stenography But those folk can type hundreds of words per minute for court I'd love to be able to do so just for fun And it's only like 6 keys

My typing speed and skill didn't really start to improve until I started talking to people every day in discord, yes even with qwerty I still makes hundreds of mistakes but can finally look away from the keyboard again and still get words correct This is after being out of school for several years

1:17 this is my answer We still use the “QWERTY” format because during the transition from type righters to the computer manufacturers didn’t need to have it be “quicker” and people who used type righters already knew that format which stuck and manufacturers haven’t bothered really changing that lay out as it has become the standard for most keyboards
