As someone that uses 3 languages regulary on keyboard, each with a different layout(qwerty, qwertz and the very different йцук common in slavic, cyrillic languages) I'm quite happy getting 45 wpm on two of them While I speak, read and write fluently in the 3rd I'm still not used to the keyboard layout, I often find myself confusing certain letters with their latin counter part, and they don't share the same location on the keyboard Any tips of how to bring my mind to adjust to the vastly different layout?

I was pretty steady and accurate around 90-100 for the longest time, but I realized I wasn’t using the home row method I just kind of learned to scatter my fingers around the keyboard and use whatever seemed right at the time, but I realized this is probably inefficient because I used mostly my first few fingers and didn’t always use the same finger for the same key (Kind of like 1:05) So I started trying to use the home row method and it tanked my wpm down to like 40-50 Hopefully with some practice I’ll get speed back and the technique pays off

At 3:49 your hands are resting on some type of cardboard contraption That in itself is bad form and will slow you down Also will help speed up carpal tunnel 🫡

My big problem which could be or not be a problem is that I don't use that technique of using all of my fingers, I just use 3 and my thumb for space, without using pinky my average is 110 and top 130 I don't know if it's a really big problem cus I've been typing my whole life with my current technique and switching to using all 4-5 fingers on certain positions is SO hard I basically have to start all over again, with the difference that I already know every letter in my keyboard

How I learned to type faster? Take computer science course 😂 I swear I was one of the slowest typer at 31 wpm After two years and many coding projects later, I'm now at 75-80 wpm 😂

I can't say when type racer ever came out but I have vague memories of playing type racer around 2008 and it is still the same but a great tool I tend to take some peeks at my keyboard while typing but it actually slows me down I'm preparing for a 2nd job as a medical scribe and my typing is better than the 30 wpm they are requiring I average around 57 wpm brbrI am improving but I want to be able to accurately and quickly type what I want to without looking at the keyboard at all This changes a little bit as you may be using a laptop compared to a PC with higher keyboard Either way, I want to get better at it so I can look at patients and the doctor in they eye while typing everything out

I am at roughly 85 WPM, but I only use 4 fingers, and a thumb for space bar I just know if I practiced using all my fingers, and typing using the correct fingers on the correct keys, I could probably type extremely fast I can also type without looking while typing with 4 fingers

I have no prior specific typing jobs, and just have done a typing cursus at age 13, now 25, and started speedtyping 2 day's ago I've reached a peak of 1018 WPM today and was prompted to validate I'm not a cheaterbest feeling lol I feel like I'm able to reach 140 WPM next year I'll check back in :)

It's true when he said goal is to be able to type without seeing the keyboard It's really crucial, and slow at the begining The place I went to learn fast typing forgot to tell me I am not supposed to look at the keyboard and it took me so much time for me to realise the mistake and redo the entire training later on while my sibling was given that tip at the very get go, even tho it was slow at begining, it was overwhelming to beat the time of my sibling later on because it gave a major advantage as she was able to type without seeing the keyboard
