i'm a new manager that sees all these issues and this is exactly why i am getting through to my subordinates and upsetting my managers, because they thought because they are managers they must be obeyed and respected for their position, not their behavior it's reassuring to know i'm doing something right and to know what to avoid to prevent conflicts! thank you Comment from : @KittyMariChan |

Ran a content creation business for a while back in the Pacific Northwest My family and I moved to Vermont Not a lot of business out here brbrSo, I got a job at Walmart! I have a weird schedule since I have to be home during the day for my son I have sales and management experience but I never behaved like I was too good for the jobbrbrEight days in the man who hired me asked if I wanted to apply for a team lead (supervisor) position Salary, $80k, 12 hour shifts I turned in my CV and cover letter yesterday brbrPoint is, keep trying stuff til you find your niche Don’t step trying brbrI decided I want to become CEO of Walmart Will update! I’m currently assessing the company and determining how to approach my role I find it challenging to assign tasks to colleagues who are much older than I am Although I was hired as a technician, I have unexpectedly become a technical manager (AWP) for various reasons I didn't question this change because I view it as both a challenge and an opportunity for growth Your tips will be incredibly helpful, especially the "Knowing the Expectations" part Thank you so much, Sir! I’m about 3 months into my management promotion I’d say the things I have struggled with the most are:br-Finding a balance between being too lax or too strict The last manager was very lax and it has caused many issues They are not used to being “managed” and I don’t want to change things too quickly and have people quitbr-Becoming a manager to people who were once my equals and friends It makes things very awkward and sometimes incredibly difficult to reprimand br-As I said, the last manager was not good, and the mess I’ve been left has been incredibly stressful Comment from : @josdamillio |

Excellent advice! Each one is helpful in every field What I hated about my last manager (before quitting and starting my own small business) was she went out of her way to lie and get the old manager fired, took her place, told lies about me even though I had 15 years more experience than her, eventually drove me out the door!!brNot friends to this day, 2 years later Can not befriend a backstabber! Why does the manager have to be a man ?? Comment from : @twinflamedream |

Great video and content I like the role plays Could you also do a role play in the other direction? Showing HOW ideally to present yourself as new manager to the team? That would be very helpful As a side note I also want to add that as a female who reports to a female manager, it would be nice to not be addressed as “him, his” all the time 😉 just switch to the female perspective from time to time and your female viewers will be able to relate to your content even more Comment from : @insightinspiration9922 |

I'm a manager for the first time after only working there for six months I'm very nervous and I'm pretty sure I was only promoted because they were short on managers and I happened to be a good worker The thing is I have issues with telling people what to do I'm a pushover and I know I'm tolerating way more than is okay But I don't have the heart to be stern with people I have workers who sit around or disappear while on the clock If I were a manager of a better store it'd be easier But I just so happened to become a manager of a place that was being on the verge of closing down And the people they hire are always lazy, or high schoolers who honestly couldn't give a shit Comment from : @munecabonbon |
