I got my first real commission last June, and I still work with those clients and absolutely love them I charged 20 at first, but after working with them I started getting WAY more attention I did a big project with a different company, and because I didn't really know what I was doing with commissions and prices and things still, I only charged them 25 per drawing >> It was WAY too much work for that low price But on the other hand, it was a lot of guaranteed work I now charge around 50 for a full color character commission, and less for like half body or bust or what not And that works really well for me Comment from : @CreeperGriefer98 |

I found your clip studio template and I've been catching up on some of your videos This'll definitely help too, as I'm planning on focusing on art after spending 9 months at a job I don't love I want to dive head first into art stuff, as it's what makes me happy, plus I've got money saved up, so I can start doing this now Comment from : @fmbray_ |

I have a burning question for you When you are featured with Webtoons, are you allowed to sell merch of your comic? For example stickers, enamel pins, prints, but not a printed book of the comic because that's the exclusive right that Webtoons hold when you are featured I'd love to buy merch from featured Webtoons but I don't see any so I thought I would ask! Thanks in advance! Comment from : @Epsci |

I come from a really poor background so whenever i get a commission i always say yes Even so many years later when im doing financially good, have 2 art jobs and im pretty happy with my art path so far whenever i get a commission i always say yes out of fear that if i dont i will suddenly go back to poverty Its pretty funny but also kinda fucks me over at times when i already have enough tasks on my plate So lately ive been trying to teach myself to be more responsible/secure and learn to say no I hope it doesnt sound like bragging I just wish other artists to know their limits and not overwork themselves like i tend to do Comment from : @Vakodraws |

I have a question regarding commissions: do you have terms of service or some sort of agreement that your clients have to sign for you to do the artwork? You know, something that tells them your rules about refunds, who owns copyright, if its for personal/commercial use, etc? Comment from : @alexandrazapatamultimedia |

I've been watching you for almost a year I think, and you've inspired me so much to pursue the career in art that I want! I want to do webtoons, but I guess what's stopping me is feeling nervous about drawing soo many panels My portfolio is full of character portraits, but i haven't shown that I can do comics Previously I told myself that I couldn't do it because I was pursuing a masters, but now that I'm done, I guess nothing is stopping me from starting a webtoon! I have just started doing commissions as well, and I think my skill level is in a good place to charge high The people wanting to pay me haven't been turned away with the price so I guess that's a good thing lol Comment from : @alexandrazapatamultimedia |

Recently I agreed on making a commission for a close friend I wanted to build a portfolio so I agreed But damn he wanted me to draw him inside a club, with crowds of people and maaany details It took me more than a week to finish it and I regretted it from day one Especially the part that I wasn't getting paid and that I put sooo much effort Comment from : @kouanto_art |

Been taking commissions for 5 years nowbrbrA commission I kinda regret was one which requested me to illustrate using a particular comic artstyle that isn't mine, I needed the money so I just said yes but it turned into 3-5 commissions over the course of 3 months that took up a lot of my time and I didn't particularly enjoy the process of Couldn't really post any of it since it wasn't my art style and doesn't match my feed either-- brbrtip is: evaluate if a commission/client is really worth it, sometimes the offer may seem really great at first but be sure to think of the long-run effects once they start hinting at a series of commissions/project as you'll also probably will have to dedicate a time slot for such a projectbrbrIn the end, because they didn't tell me that they wanted a bunch of commissions right away, what could've been completed within 15 months took 3 months total Comment from : @veenyako |

I'd love to start doing commissions, but it's partially a "Am I even good enough? Will people like my style?" as well as "Do I want to sacrifice making what I want to make, in order to make stuff for other people?" Comment from : @AgentEmbey |
