I’ve been on an app that offers pay in the app currency, I got a commission and randomly put the in game amount I earn to the equivalent of £1- I’ve recently put it up to £5 after I realised how low it was but think that the art I make is worth more than that (my profile picture is one of my favourite pieces, my style is mainly realism)

For any commission over $100 I’ll ask for half up front and half when the sketch is approved That way I go in to colour knowing it’s now fully paid Colour rendering takes probably the longest time of the whole process so I’d hate to be scammed after completing that stage Any commission less than $100 and I expect all of the money upfront

One question if you get a comission and use paypal, and you specify the customer pays the transfer fee how does that work, do they add the fee unto what they pay to you? Do you have to request the payment?

I think sketches are still good to have on your sheet It costs literally nothing for you to offer them and take into consideration different styles, i see alot of ppl get sketch comissions, some people’s styles really look beautiful as sketches too so the appeal is different depending on different artists brThat plus some ppl have a much larger difference in price of sketch-finished so customers with less are more likely to go for a sketch Just some thought on that part!

I've seen people charge 50/50 through all the process For example they'll charge 50 of the when their client made their comm or when they send the concept sketch and get it approved, and the other 50 when it's all donebrThe one's I've seen doing it say its to avoid getting scammed by their clients, Like if they just don't pay for the other 50 they still have the other half at least
