Hi, I’m struggling with my 13 month little princess She’s balancing really well though She’s my first that I’m experiencing with practicing My first walked at early 9 months old and my 2nd at middle 10 months They took their steps by helping themselves Any other advices other than this video might help? Anyone have other tips?

My baby is 18 months old She never crawled and cannot get up by herself to a sitting position and neither can she stand on her own She needs support for these and she has started taking 5-6 independent steps She walks across the room from one person to the other and has fallen a few times too

My daughter CoraLena has Down Syndrome She will be 3 yrs old on March 1st She will pull to stand, play with toys on her table, cruise on furniture, use a toy walker as well as a gait trainer, and we support her by holding her ribs However, if we move our hands or any of the items that she was using, she will sit on her butt and go back to butt scooting/army crawling She will be growing out of early intervention and hopefully will be starting with an intermittent unit But, it’s getting harder for me to constantly carry her especially with having a newborn in November I’m reaching out for more support (as well as a place to just vent)

Hi Emma, I need some advised from you My boy is already 18months and not walking independently He can cruise to take things and walk holding our finger When will try to let go one of the finger he refused He can walking holding one of our finger and the other hand holding anything Sometime he will be lazy and don't wan to walk Need your advise to how to let my boy walk independently without holding us

You're right that holding by the waist is better, but the problem with that is that it kills our backs We gotta think about ourselves too!

not sure if we should be concerned-my 19 month old grandson onky “walks” on his knees we have seen him walk on his feel once or twice so know he is able but he may be afraid of falling? he hops in his knees or uses a walking motion on his knees only

Our baby is just over three months hes pulling himslef up to standalways crunching And all he wants to do is stand Weve even taken our hands away from under his arms And he stays for about three seconds befor ehe wobbles He feels so solid He started taking steps up us a few wreks ago and now if we put him on the groudn hes walking with our hands under him We looked up how to help his balance and this video popped up Its so good to get some confirmation that we havnt been hindering him

Just wanted to say thank you so much for this At 20 months we were starting to get worried (starting physical therapy etc) but the tips in this video made a huge difference After two weeks of practice holding under her arms instead of her hands she's walking as of today!

My son started furniture cruising at eight months at 14 months, he is still not walking He will literally furniture and wall cruise throughout the whole house, not crawling at all, but will not let go He’s so stubborn lol

The first way of 'helping' a baby to walk looks like it might put strain on the baby's arms from being held up It would also put a strain on the adult's back

My daughter can walk when holding on to things she just turned 1 All she does is play in standing position she just crawls to get to a place to stand She just started standing by herself a couple weeks ago but she will not try and take a step she gets scared and will sit down She used everything as a push walker as long as she’s touching something she’ll walk but the second I make her let go she stops and sits how do I get her to take those first few steps? I know she can walk by herself she just doesn’t know that yet

My baby is about a year and a half old He is capable of walking but he has a fear of walking independently Unfortunately we did not give him much belly time and we put him in one of those walkers for too long Now when he attempts to walk on his own, he wants to lean back and stop walking How can I help him overcome the fear of walking independently? We know he's capable because as long as somebody is somewhat within reach he will try to reach them

Top tip don't hold both their hands they do get reliant on that you can feel that when you do it, they directed you because they want you to bring them places which is pretty clever Hold one hand and switch hands and let go (safely, when balanced) often They will swing and lose balance but they need to do this My baby was walking within a week of me doing this with her She had no interest in walking by herself I started walking her the last couple blocks to nursery (one handed) every day and all of a sudden she started running from table to chair That was a couple months ago, she's really steady on her feet now
