My grade1 Classroom was a mess they be playing around class and when i said open textbook some of them said they dont bring but they lied I dont know am i being too nice for them?I once shouted at this one kid for breaking the class window when they played bottles in the class and he go silent as he know he did wrongTheyre so chaotic when theres me in class How can i make them scared of me 😢It really differs when im teaching grade 4/5 cus theyre older and maybe theyre big enough to understand me u know when i raised my voice they all went silent But the grade1 kids huhOne time i just ignored the loud kids and not talking too much to them cuz if i talk to them they will act demanding like saying they dont want to do work cuz they wanna play and stuff Comment from : @judee1783 |
I really need this! I might not be a teacher but I'm a class president so I need to always make them quite when a teacher isn't around Comment from : @daisyforest |
Hey Maya!brSo here i was looking for ways to keep students quiet during class and i come across this videobrI'm an educator assistant at a primary school and I remember being in a grade 4 class using an attention grabberbrYou say: "Hocus Pocus"brThey say: "Time to Focus"brAnd in that way, it helps them to focus and be quiet Comment from : @MysticD24 |
I liked all of these I love that last attention grabber idea I’m going to try that with my Pre K class Comment from : @chicanasc4201 |
While i was in middle school and now in high school, my classmates werent always THAT loud but teachers love to bang the table loud or holler and scream at us and have an aggresive tedtalk about violating the school’s reputation and how our behaviors are graded and of course nobody can talk back and they even defend the more terrifying teachers, a super strict teacher whos useless at teaching algebra and forces out answers from us through fear and they didnt fire the pedo teacher toobrbri was terrified of teachers but now it gets fcking annoying that ive been trying to convince my family to let me transfer to any school at all :( but i still have to spend more of my hs years in the same school Comment from : @s___akura |

I teach college, and we have the same issues I have used the proximity method for 15 years, and it’s awesome! If it doesn’t work, putting my hand flat on that desk while continuing to lecture gets their attention Another one I use in serious cases is to shut the lights off There are many more approaches as well, but another worth mentioning is announcing that we will be doing student presentations that day That works fast! Comment from : @Phantom1 |
Thank you so much for this video! I loved these ideas I started subbing this year and I believe these will help me a lot! 🙂 Comment from : @Adventureswithkiddos |

I like to think of myself of the annoying popular ish girlbrbrI try to be quite but my class is LOUD (sorry if any of my class mates are reading this) I must say I am noisy but I’m trying to be more quite so I make a good impression for when I’m older, or in other grades because if you start off as a trouble maker you stay one till the end of the year until there is a long break because of the corona virus so I can kinda start clean or at least not a trouble makerbrbrSome of my teachers either right down a quarter of our names if we are loud and if we get to our full name we have to stay in the next lunch recessbrbrAnother one is that my teacher put on some quite music/ calming music and if our class is louder than the music the teacher tells usbrbrWe also used to have a rain stick so if we are loud the teacher just flips it and tells us to be quitebrbrLastly, after lunch recess to calm us down we do about 15 or a 20 minute meditation session to calm us down after running around outsidebrbrWhen the pandemic is over and if you try these please tell me how they wentbrAlso thank you so much for this video I got some new ideas 😁😄 Comment from : @emmatheartist09 |
