Kali Audio makes a dual 65" hyperbolic subwoofer that is a beast made for recording studios around the $500 range worth a look as well That RSL Sub seems to stand out in this lineup And I've always liked Polk products I can't comment on quality and sound, but a brand that I recently came across Starke Sound and would be a company I would like to hear more about if possible Comment from : @johannjohann6523 |
Nowadays I think the rsl speedwoofer 10e buries that klipsch permanently Comment from : @Hugh_Jainus |
I personally think all subs sound better at 60hz and lower crossover Comment from : @Sc2God724 |
Is the mono price 10” or Starke 15” ($549 cheaper than the 12”) that much better? Is it worth spending a there $200 to get one of them? Comment from : @Weekend_DMZ_Warrior |
When stepping up from a Polk HTS12 - 200W / 22-180 Hz (USD 510) to the XTZ 1217 Edge - 800W / 19-160 Hz (USD 900), what kind of tangible difference can I expect?
brGiven that It's 4 times the wattage, double the price, and can go slightly lower by 2db Comment from : @theuvcrew2531 |
RSL seems great And it looks great except for that big painted “Speedwoofer” across the bottom Little tacky Comment from : @pizzaguyaz |
I love my klipsch 121 sub, i dont see what the criticism is for Plan on buying a second Comment from : @matb |
Hi I’m deciding between a definitive technology DN12 or SVS SB 2000 pro Which one is the better option Thank you Comment from : @mohamedahmad4457 |
Í just put a sewer pipe on wheels and built my own I had to modify it to fir the ceiling (22m) but overall I am quite happy Comment from : @jamegumb7298 |
I would go with the BIC because it would blend with my BIC DV84s AND avoid that dreadful midbass bump that makes a system sound as if it has more bass than what it does Comment from : @randolphblack2554 |
Should have done 12's all around for equal size with an * for the price Jump Thanks again for informative review Comment from : @mannycazz8018 |
Which one of these would be best to pair with Polk R700s? Their frequency response goes down to 38hz Comment from : @vagabond197979 |
I already own a single r-121, would it be a problem to buy any of the other brands to go along with my klipsch? Comment from : @MrHauntedcn |
Monolith M-10 > all? Comment from : @x-techgaming |

If i want to Spend 2k on Subs do i do 4 $500 subs 2 1k subs or 1 2k sub br4 10's 3 12's 2 15's or 1 18? Comment from : @RCRitterFPV |
Nice comparison, even in Jan 2024 I had not considered the RSL and will now give them a good look over I like its small size and ability to extend up to 150 Hz may help future-proof my Atmos height channel speakers that only reach down to 120 Hz I know there is not much low-end content in those channels yet, but may be down the road Who knows They also have a ton of back-side features like dialed phase control, line out and speaker level inputs the others seem to lack Nice package for $450, although they are sold out right now Comment from : @csimet |
Rsl sub new or svs 2000 non pro used for $300? Comment from : @tvdang7 |

SVS PB2000 and SB2000 are both about $500 I have both Great for the price 550 watts Comment from : @mikej1428 |
How do you think these compare to the new best sonos sub (the large gen 3 one for $799)? I just got that one and I've literally never heard bass that loud and crystal clear and expansive in a house before outside of a large home theater! It blows me away when I turn the sub eq all the way up Shakes the whole neighborhood and the bass clarity is better than JL audio subs in the car haha Comment from : @mikecontino3591 |
Gene/James: 2 10" RSLs or 1 SVS PB-1000 or Monolith 10"??I would rather have 2 subs than 1 with more outputroom is 1850 feet cubed with an opening to another room thats 1300 feet cubed Comment from : @todd69er |
Would Polk Audio HTS 12 be a good subwoofer match for Kantu Yu6? Comment from : @christiandavetipactipac5207 |
>I promise you sounds much better on THC_! Comment from : @keithgregson9573 |
I have two klipsch r-121sw Got them each for $300 At that price they are phenomenal for an entry level sub Later on will upgrade to monolith Comment from : @IamChucky_ |
To subwoofer at $450 or to Soundbar (with sub) at $500? Polk has a great sale going on right now with the br1: HTS 12br2: Polk Magnifi MaxbrbrWhat should I do? I currently have a LCR channel, AV receiver, and no sub Comment from : @gnawty4662 |
So glad that Gene has upgraded his Mic from a couple of years ago Sounds much more natural than past reviews Know this has been improved for a while, but thought it os worth noting Apprciate the review and comparison of the $500 cat of subs Comment from : @chrisharpe7736 |
Klipsch BASH amps have a very high failure rate (historically speaking) I'd avoid them bass'd on that alone Comment from : @chrisharpe7736 |
What about the Hsu Vt-2 Mk5? I know it's over $600 though Comment from : @Cristo12344 |
The bass is the most misunderstood and abused segment of audio When I hear a Boom boom boom sound coming from outside of a house, or a low rider car, I know their subwoofers are not set up right Comment from : @OneTruthNoBull |
Got my SVS PB2000 on Black Friday for $599 I'm happy Comment from : @amazoidal |
I found out a week or two ago that the Klipsch SPL-120 (300W) was being discontinued and found it at B&H They had it on sale for $449 ($400 off) , but they had one used example for $35895 I couldn't pass it up It's replacing my 65W Polk 10" sub that was part of a satellite system I bought about 15 yrs ago I like the fact that the crossover is adjustable (but honestly I don't know if it's neutralized or not by using Audessey on my Denon AVR-X4700H I'm using it with my RP-600Mii L/R mains, R-34C center and old Polk surrounds for a 71 system Comment from : @garyausten5939 |
Dennis:" RSL has treated me EXTREMELY well It's a family company and they act like it They want to bring HONOR to the table and they have for me" Yes, indeed My experience also Proud to own one of their SW Mk2 Want a second one ASAP for another room Comment from : @beesdreams9 |
I own a Polk HTS-12 Bought it at the height of COVID lockdowns and was the only thing in stock at the timebrbrIt is a great sub Very fast and nuanced bass Won't dig down to 16Hz like a SVS PB16 but the beauty of it is that it just bows out instead of sitting there flopping around and distorting trying to play stupid low frequencies brYou do have to set it up correctly though to get the most punch out of it There's a channel called Subwoofer 101 on YouTube and he has in my opinion the best sub integration video out there!brbr youtube/dEFkPe7RrQE Comment from : @zoroluva |
I love my old BCI PL200 subwoofer For the price I paid back in the day it's been exceptional and I couldn't be happier with it I think it was actually an old Audioholics video that put me onto BIC/Acoustech to begin with & after looking around I took a shot Comment from : @sarges1712 |
Quick Question how are the Polk PSW 505 Subwoofer are they good because I'm contemplating on buying those or the BIC PL-300 someone help me make a decision please I'm Stumped Comment from : @williamforbes9437 |

The answer is Rythmic servo I want the L12 if the economy stays afloat Edit: the video needs to be "the best subwoofer under $630" Just save more for it Comment from : @AbideinChristSealed |
Would be cool if you made timeline points if you dont wanna see the whole video or simply dont have the time Comment from : @roybrolsbeak |
This is the review/video we've been waiting for! James' approach to reporting the characteristics of speaker products is perfeclty suited for this format The chart and graph along with commentary were excellent! This needs to be a reoccurring comparison I'd recommend Rhythmik, REL and SVS subs be included in the next roundup Thumbs up Thank you so much! Comment from : @jeffsloane8628 |
I don't know what the SPL-121 is but the SPL-120 is spun copper 600w and $150 cheaper Comment from : @chksm755 |
Anything "courtesy of THC" is welcomed in my world! Comment from : @King_Dusty_Of_Pookytopia |
If you are a home theatre fan, skip the $500 limit Start at $700 to a $1000 per sub Wish RSL made a 12 or 15 because they are the budget king! If you had 12’s or 15’s in your ride than you are a bass head You will need multiple subs, at least 2, probably 4 My 51 cost $2400 $1800 for 2 subs, $600 for speakers, AVR, cables, etc Comment from : @3js312 |
EMOTIVA BASX MR1 Review please Comment from : @joethomson782 |
I do like my RSL MK II's, but that REL HT-1205 looks pretty sweet Comment from : @eyestick8012 |

I'm still rocking my 20 year old Velodyne subs Not a single problem with them and I'm beginning to think they are going to outlast me Comment from : @jtcooper2963 |
THC certification shouldn't be dismissed, especially when choosing a subwoofer for music appreciationbr💨🔥🌲🌲🌲 Comment from : @Grassy_Gnoll |
My country cheapest svs around 865$ to around 3900$ 😂 🤣 I'm not touching those I'm happy whit my 18" subs at 1000w so they can keep up whit my 1000w speaker 😜 do have 2 small 12" subs but they can't keep up whit it🤣😔😅 Comment from : @SHAADOWW7765 |
I personally love the Klipsch sound amazing for music , but if your after more bass the other options are best for theater Comment from : @WhiteGhost0891 |
Dual: SVS PB-1000 Pros or Starke SW15's: $1400 vs $1000, which wins? Comment from : @Believeintimetravel |
I own 2 of the original RSL Speedwoofers (on original recommendation & review by Audioholics) and they hit hard and low 2 subs for $800! Can't be beat and a very impressive value for quality and performance Comment from : @TechOTuesday |
