Here is one for you i started stacking in 1998 when bars were $6 each and rounds were $525 I also remember complaining (to my self) about the 1/10 $5 gold eagle being too high at $35 Each I think gold was $$270 an Troy oz

I just went to a coin shop and they didn’t had no prices displayed, another thing I felt a little uncomfortable it was when I asked him the price of a coin, he told me it was 2 dollars more of on what was on a website coin, so I showed him the price on what was on the website and asked him if I could get the coins as what it was there, he said yes it was fine But I think he was over charging me

Yeah we only tell you it's not worth the silver by paying less than melt for it we would never be honest to your face and just say it's not worth the silver brbrHaven't you made a ton of videos on how anything less than 90 silver isn't worth it because of refining costs

I have always had a good experience with my local coin shop There are a few in my city, which is Wichita, Kansas Heartland Coin Gallery is the only one I have visited I have bought gold and silver from them and their prices were higher than some online dealers, but I appreciate being able to pay cash and talk to them about stacking If you are ever in Wichita, stop by Heartland Coin Gallery!

I got my start stacking at Phil's Coins in Wichita Kansas many years ago One of the things I really like about Phil is that all the employees are armed and they will escort you out to your car if you've made a large purchase That was very reassuring to me and my elderly mother when we went there 1 day and bought quite a bit

The owner had said that you need to remember "this is a hobby" But, for my family, silver and gold coins are a hedge against bad times If I lose my job, for whatever reason, we eat for at least 3 or 4 months For us, this isn't a hobby at all

Best advice was going to coin shows to meet local dealers I did 2 years ago and got a tenth oz gold US for ten bucks less than online prices Picked up several buisness cards, met a famous dealer too Got my book signed by the gentleman who handled the famous butternut hoard of large cents Great advice Go to coin shoes

My LCS is a miserable place to shop Well, especially for first timers It’s a huge storefront Picture a strip mall, and they rented three sections You walk in, and there’s 25 showcases, but they are all empty You go to the back of the store there’s two employees behind thick glass with a security window like you are at a gas station in the hood brYou’ve got to ask for specific things, and they will pass it through the window for you to look at it Once they get to know you, they will bring stuff out for you to look at But you’ve gotta ask And I doubt many people that wander in there actually do I’ll stop and pick up Constitutional & cull government rounds occasionally but otherwise mostly steer clear of the place I think all they do all day is buy gold & the occasional heirloom collection from people who found them onlinebrCummings Rare CoinsbrJackson, TN

A red flag I’d like to point out is don’t judge a book by its coverbrI went into a local coin shop to buy some eagles, and the first thing the owner said was how much he was paying for gold and silver lol, I told I was buying and he looked at my 5 year old son and said dad isn’t very bright I told him I would gladly buy eagles for that price and his face got red 😂brI’m a big tatted up guy that doesn’t dress very nice when not at work, but my wife and I try to save 200 dollars a piece every month to add to the stack Needless to say he missed out on our moneybrI do want to give a shoutout to Brendon at bloomingdale coin in Brandon Florida, straight good guy with a clean organized shop!
