@stevemoon4706
After watching probably all of your videos discussing the choices we senoirs have for healthcare in retirement, I'm going with a supplement plan - Plan N or High Ded G I truly see no "advantage" in MA plans? brbrPersonally, I work in healthcare - as a cardiac sonographer - and, at 64, I'm constantly inquiring with patients I interact with on what plan they have It's amazing to me how many people choose MA plans in my area - southern Maine - w/o understanding the potential consequences of that decision when an extended stay at the hospital happens Supplement for me brbrAnd I thank you and your company for all you do to help educate us on this complicated subject

@edwardmissouri2216
I know that my situation is different, but for what it's worth, I will post this I am a retired letter carrier, and I have a Advantage PPO plan through the group of insurance plans available to me through the government I do pay about 23800 a month for the plan, but I have no deductibles or copays, and I don't have to have pre-authorization I also get a discount on my part B, and I have some preventative dental and eye care I also have Part D prescription coverage with copays I have had this plan for a couple years, and it has performed as stated Of course, I haven't been hospitalized I'm sure there is pre-authorization required for hospital admittance I'm not sure if I decided to go back to Medicare and a supplement, if I would have to go through Medical underwriting
Comment from : @edwardmissouri2216

@ShirleyOldland-w6j
This is a very informative video! One thing I think you should also mention is that the $17470 for Part B coverage is automatically withheld from your Social Security check, so you don’t feel like you are actually “paying” for it every month like writing a check for it My hubby and I started on a Medicare supplement plan when we first went on Medicare because we wanted the absolute lowest out of pocket cost in case of a catastrophic illness Our independent agent did an analysis at the end of the first year and she said we were really only using the prescription coverage of Part D, so she recommended switching to an advantage plan to save money Fast forward a few years and my hubby is now in a nursing home and the plan has a limit of 100 days of skilled nursing/rehab ( and they can cut you earlier if you reach a plateau or stop progressing!) and from the middle of September to the end of 2024, he was on private pay and we shelled out between $35,000 and $40,000! And his medical situation now will not allow him to qualify for a Medicare Supplement plan! So like this presentation says, be VERY careful when deciding!

@teladan5
For the first three years of my retirement, we went with a Medicare Advantage plan, which had our primary hospital and all our doctors in-network for several plans For 2025, we learned - after the fact - that the doctors who had been accepting some of the Medicare Advantage plans (HMO and PPO) were no longer accepting ANY of them And there was no forewarning about the changes As a result we felt the need to go to a Medicare Supplement (Plan N) We had to go through underwriting, as you mention, but were ultimately approved Still, a frustrating experience
Comment from : @teladan5

@ALL-IN-ONE1292
Is there any person who has work experience on Part A medicare????????
Comment from : @ALL-IN-ONE1292

@gordoncashwell325
To be fair, if you are going to compare apples to apples, you need to include what premiums would have to be paid for dental, vision, hearing, gym membership, etc You save a lot more to an advantage plan when you consider this most of the time
Comment from : @gordoncashwell325

@curatorproductions
Hi Stephanie, I just found your channel and finding it very helpful as my wife and I just turned 64 In your white board example of Medicare Part G do each of us pay that premium?

@terrianne6312
Medicare Advantage Plan C is NOT Public Medicare at all! Medicare Advantage Plan C is a PRIVATE company that is part of United Healthcare! NEVER sign up to Medicare Advantage! Medicare Advantage is ONLY profit driven, so if this corporation could they would deny 100 of claims submitted to them It's just so sad, that the United States doesn't have universal health care for EVERYONE!
Comment from : @terrianne6312

@susanreppert6982
Stephanie, I'm using Zepbound for weight-loss Are there any perscripton plans that will pay for most of the monthly cost? Advantage plans are private insurance that benefit insurance companies and they profit by denying services to a lot of people They cost the US millions

@ecf9674
I'm turning 65 in '25, so thank you for all the great info While tending my mother, I have been pleased with her original Medicare She also has BCBS Plan F ($350/mo at age 92), which covers her Medicare deduct, but I think she'd pay less overall with the Plan G you quoted They are very good at covering the Medicare co-paybrbr2:04 So when Advantage plans quote $0 monthly premium, they really mean no additional premium We still pay the $17470/mo brbr3:25 For covered services, Medicare typically pays 80 of the Allowed Amount, and the patient is responsible for the remaining 20 (of the allowed amount, which usually is much less than the billed amount)
Comment from : @ecf9674

@chrisjohns38
Why didn’t you cover the maximum out of pocket expenses when choosing A,B plus supplement?

Comment from : @emptyblank4320

@markrosenthal9108
Medicare Advantage also has the no-network option now You pay the same for any Medicare provider in-network or not, but there is a higher monthly premium for this It's called "full access" Max-out-of-pocket is $3400 for 2025 on the "full access" plan
Comment from : @markrosenthal9108

@JohnJohn-wr1jo
Mother Nature gets the blame for most of Floridas issues The root cause is mismanagement, poor planning, and corruption by the state, county, and municipality legislators A family member explained to me over fifty years ago that the "Florida model" for developers and politicians is based on the following Build in an area that's vulnerable Let mother nature destroy it Rebuild it Win win for everyone but the sucker's that line up to buy it He lived there for forty years and recognized this and it's more true now than ever
Comment from : @JohnJohn-wr1jo

@purplekat10000
I spoke to 3 different insurance agents who were supposed to be unbiased I watched a lot of videos before and learned about the difference in Medicare and advantage plans and I was still not sure i understood but the agents all tried to put me on an advantage plan although I was pretty sure i wanted regular Medicare I was lied to many times I learned that insurance agents get paid more money when they sign you up for an advantage plan

@tatteredquilt
An advantage plan left me with thousands in bills (on disability income) It's VERY important to know that the 20 Medicare doesn't cover is ONLY the 20 of the price Medicare ALLOWS- not what the hospital bills I did assessments for Medicare reimbursement for many years before my body broke Advantage plans are cheaper- but you get what you pay for It's much cheaper to pay the 20 I was paying $450/month for plan F (I have a lot of medical issues)- Now, I pay about $50 each for my diabetic CGM supplies and CPAP supplies IF I end up with other medical bills, I can make payments much more cheaply
Comment from : @tatteredquilt

We left the dinosaur Red/White/Blue Medicare in 2019 Providers were abusing the deductibles owed on Jan 1 of every new year You either pay it up front at first visit or you aren't seen TRUE STORY! We talked to our Agent and he went over everything with us for several hours after he closed his office We even have Dental and Vision now Nothing ever stays the same but for now we're happy with our Advantage plan
