YouTube premium has a price and is not add supported, but I don’t know what exactly they do with my data and how much extra it would cost without that? Maybe twice the amount? I don’t know but maybe I would pay for the same services with a guarantee of my 100 control and transparency over my data Why haven’t they tried that model yet at least with one product on a small target audience? Actually, Google owes us nothing It specifically mentions Terms and Conditions which all of us agree to, and also makes sure we know about every one of their privacy policy updates We give our data's access to Google specifically, which if is not mandatory So it's us who has given Google all access to data

The proposition of a data bank ran by government to me is utter non-sense for several reasons First of all, the implementation of such a system could potentially mean company polling the data bank without me interacting with said company's services, which to me is problematic to say the least Secondly, how is it that the people would be OK with the government storing their data when government programs like PRISM and ECHELON were considered outrageous and too far reaching Thirdly, if it's government run it means we would end up paying for it in the first place wouldn't we? In order to get a return on the profits generated by our data, which on an individual basis must be quite small, as oppose to a bulk of data that let's say Facebook sells to a third party, we'd need to be spending taxpayers money to set and maintain the data bank (thus bringing the balance back real close to 0$ for the user, if not a net loss) Finally, it means less money to the actual company who run those services In my view, the end result looks like this: No actual gain for the common user, legitimizing widespread data gathering and monitoring of the people by government, less money for the actual service providers That sounds like a shitty plan

for those thinking that this is data stored by a givernment own bank, I believe that was an analogy It could be a decentralized system, and you might run a client on your devices that runs the code snippet, subscribing to the economy and through subscription (paid by your upstream of data) companies like google would make money off of advertiserssomething like thatand hey maybe there are even better ways to do this, maybe the current ways is innaceptable, time will tell
