If you know what is good for you, you will run for the hills as fast as you can away from Physio as if you were being chased by zombies Seriously, PT is the goofiest profession in healthcare, choking on bs pseudoscience, and an array of poorly evidenced interventions that will challenge your sense of reason The research supporting the profession is garbage, based on the misdirected notion that biological reductionism/structuralism is an appropriate underlying philosophy for a rehab profession Results of these pitiful studies demonstrate that PT interventions are no more effective than placebo effect The pre-licensure education is far too expensive; the DPT is a work of the criminally insane Student debt crushes the life from many grads as they labour trying to pay it off The public is charged exorbitant fees for services that cannot be justified Every exercise known to humankind is on YT; access to wearable AI apps will further render the clinician redundant and obsolete I could go on, but the point is to avoid the trap of this outdated feature of 1960s healthcare and hope it is soon relegated to a museum display Comment from : @anonanon257 |

I am coming to realise how confined PT is in west in India we have the right to diagnose and treat independently and certainly states have also been granted the right to allow PT to prescribe drugs, it is a system of medicine in itself which uses its own modalities however in the west it is more of a professional who just tells what exercises to do in almost 90 of the cases Comment from : @flaminmongrel6955 |

I have had two passions in life, drawing and helping people I am now in college and did my first year as illustration and it killed my creative and my desire to be an illustrator and now I am taking the route of physical therapy I wanted to do PT before I even came to college and job shadowed a bit but I am so excited and my personality traits lined up with everything that was said in this video I know it’s a grind to make it through the whole program but it really seems worth it Comment from : @themustacheddwarf |

I'm 35 and being a PT is something that I've though about on and off because of literally everything you just mentioned I love sports and moving my body, I love helping people, and I want to be able to share the the joy I get from moving my body with others Im realizing now that this is something I want to 100 commit to but it's going to be a complete career change for me I didn't major in a science so I'm concerned about the prerequisites to get into a DPT program, especially the work hours req With that said, is it difficult for someone who didn't major in a related field to find job or volunteer opportunities in PT to satisfy that prerequisite?
