I ended up going with the MSI Mag Tomahawk B850 It was between that and the x670e tomahawk as the price difference was minimal Chose the B850 because of the DIY features like the gpu release button bc i cannot properly express to you how annoying it is trying to remove my giant evga 3080ti without a feature like that lol I no longer trust ASUS with their mbs so those weren't an option for me

so one of the biggest issues with all the 650/850 and up M-Atx boards compared to the 550 the two slot or second pcie is placed below the main one meaning any 3 slot or larger card is going to completely make that useless Wish there was someway to ask these manufactures what their thought process with this is Lord forbid you want to run a capture card

I've noticed that the ASUS TUF Gaming B650-Plus WIFI (at Micro Center) has dozens as open-box I don't know how bad they are, but at the quantity of the open box motherboard they have in stock says something as to the functionality of the board You might want to do some inquiries/research into that

I thought the E specified the size of the board? Extended ATX usually have additional features or slots for higher end builds I personally have the B650 board with a 7600 with the additional M2 slot, you just have to be aware that the first slot is Gen5 and the second slot is Gen 4

Glad to see my MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi in there holding strong I had to do a BIOS flash to get it to boot with my Ryzen 5 7600X but once that was done it’s been solid! Got a bundle from MicroCenter’s Amazon store based on your recommendation Actually my whole build is your recommendations 😂

You put a lot of work in to this stuff and should be thanked for that yet it all strikes me as sort of old-fashioned To me, the only reason to deal with this older way of doing things is because you're insistent on using a high-end Nvidia GPU like the 4090 or 5090, and need a backplane and CPU to hang with it Otherwise, why not move onto a more modern approach like all the mini-PCs or, gasp, a Mac

I got the best motherboard out today, Crosshair X870e Hero, rock solid out of the boxbrI went for the X870e as it cost less than the X670e in the UKbrI would never touch anything but Asus Mobo's, always found the other manufacturers to be cheap especially MSI rubbish
