I've got a 5" Stainless Springfield Loaded 1911 and love it However, I've really been jonesing for a 425 Commander TRP, possibly to become my primary CCW I think that I saw a TRP review the other day (1911 Syndicate, maybe) that said that the 5" TRPs are lighter (maybe aluminum slide) and that the Commander TRPs are all steel and, thus, a bit heavier Is that true? A little heavier doesn't bother me and, in fact, for shorter-barrelled guns, I find a little more weight to be good

I've had to thin the herd over the years and one of the many regrets I've had is selling my Stainless TRP I've have and had Colts, DWs, Metro Arms, and other Springfields Something about that TRP rock solid, reliable, and accurate, definitely worth getting if anyone is thinking about it I mention the Metro Arms only because I find them excellent pistols for the money

I always wanted a TRP The trigger is the best I’ve ever felt on a handgun The price was always the sticking point I bought a Springfield GI 1911 instead Not nearly as nice, but it is still a tack driver Any Springfield makes is top notch

The CC without the rail has a steel frame vs the others that have aluminum frames, it'll knock some of the bite out of it in 45 due to the extra weight

I'd rather conceal a fullsize over a compact always I'm disabled and have really bad arthritis and with my condition it's easier to grip a fullsize faster or in a pinch than a compact anyways ill figure out how to conceal it if it feels good and fits my hands it's worth it

Coyote brown might be okay on Glocks, but my 1911s are black, blued steel or stainless I also have a few two-tone models I'd take a mediocre 1911 with no rail over a premium 1911 any day Hell, I'd take a Hi-Point over a 1911 with a rail A rail on a 1911 is a hard NO! I've always considered 20 lpi checkering to be unnecessarily aggressive for the mass audience Yeah, I know why the do it, but those people are still carrying Glocks I do like my TRP, but I'm not the only one that shoots it She'd want one for herself if the checkering was 25 lpi and I'd make sure she got it I have a TRP and a Professional, but I'd like to see just how improved the new TRP is
