only 1911 I own is a cheap tisas gov I got off psa on sale for around 250 now I own a lot of pistols from virtually every major manf and a bunch of smaller companies in most calibers from 9mm to 500s&w probably my favorite pistol to shoot is my 1911 runs amazing, looks great and accurate

Kimber's "Super Jagare" is a failed attempt at Swedish As a Swedish teacher - in Swedish - I pointed out to them that the correct Swedish is "Superjägare" Or "Super-Jägare" Means "Super Hunter" But Kimber didn't even reply

I have what’s probably the cheapest 1911 A1 ever made by a company named Norenco and in the late 1980s you could purchase one for around $250 -$300 NIB I have all internal contact points polished to a mirror finish with a tuned trigger and in 45yrs I’ve never had a single problem out of mine and it shoots great The company acquired high quality railroad track steel to make their firearms out of and this makes them extremely durable and all colt 1911 A1 parts are interchangeable with the norinco 1911 A1

I just bought a RIA reduced from $599 to $345 41lb trigger, shoots very accurate and is as good as my Colt government which was $900 I fitted a Wilson recoil 17lb 3:25 spring feeds great no issues with 200 rounds so far I did replace the full length guide rod

I have been carrying one of the Browning Black Label 380's for a couple years now I had to move to it as something slimmer than my Hi Power after bumping into a customers car one too many times at work It's a great little "get the f off me dude" gun, I have no complaints When it was new I had some pretty serious cycling issues with it, but once I put a couple hundred rounds through it, it has broken in nicely, and never have a problem now Two Thumbs Up from me

I’ve been waiting for one of these premium 2011/1911 companies to start putting out some double stack or staggered 45acp, 10mm goodness in 5”, 4”, - 2011 style, If you could get 14 rounds of 45acp or 10mm into to a Stacatto CS thickness or even a C2 (typical 2011), I’d be all over it Tho I do like the thinner cs grip brbrKimber has a really interesting & affordable 9mm in the 1911ish style called the KDS9c (it’s in the style of the Wilson Combat SFX9 that runs $2500) all steel, no grip safety👍 (just like the Wilson Combat sfx9, 15rnds 9mm, (3) mags, optics ready, bull barrel, looks great & is under$1300 (ive never owned or wanted a Kimber but this seems to have changed my mind????It has been showing a lot of promise & a lot of gun in all the reviews I’ve seen unless they’re something I’m missing…

I'm a huge 1911 fan! It is in my opinion the most versatile handgun platform ever I can be chambered in more calibers in one frame size than any other pistol platform I personally own 1911's from 3" compacts, 4-4 1/4" commanders, 5" full size and both 6"&7" long slides! In a cast array of chambering 22lr, 22 wmr 380, 762 Tokarev, 9mm, 9x23win, 9x25 Dillion, 38 super, 357 SIG, 38/45 400 Corbon, 10mm, 40 super, 45 super,45 ACP, 460 Rowland And in stretched frame sizes a Coonan 357 magnum and Grizzly 45 win mag There has never been a more ergonomic handgun, nor a platform more customizable one They're available in a multitude of frame and slide materials as well as slim single stacks to high capacity double stacks Are extremely accurate and have by far the best trigger of any semi auto pistol I would dare say the 1911 is probably the winningest platform in pistol competition as well And having been our standard issue military sidearm for 75 years probably has saved more lives than any other semi auto pistol as well It still to this day soldiers on as the choice of many elite operators/units around the globe It's pretty hard to argue against it!

Had a Kimber I called it my Jamaican because it could not make it through a full clip without jamming Sent it to Kimber twice and it finally ended just a crap mess Took a loss and traded it to a gun range for a Glock 45 If I hear someone talk about how much they love their Kimber, my BS flag automatically gets thrown

nice but there pricey my choice rock island and tisas they offer GI and upscale models ,springfield who offer an all stainless steel GI for around 700 and a good choice thats not made anymore tisas tanker model commander size but looks like short barreled GI but with a stainless steel barrel I was lucky enough to get one before they stopped issuing the stainless barrels

My SW1911SC is a gem and the last of the pistols I'd sell It is light and factory FMJ is very tolerable, but the hotter stuff is a bit snappy I should sell all my other 1911's and just get good with it! Still a chunky pistolbut one of my favorites S&W 39/59 for all-time favorites

Any cartridge in 1911 is excellent I like 45 of course, but I also like 38 Super, and 10mm My 10MM is a Magnum Research In my experience, most young people that talk bad about a 1911 has never owned one When one of my 1911's has had FTF issues it turns out to be the main spring Get a Wolf or Wilson spring for under $10 and problem solved
