I enjoyed the vid but in my area, Rochester, NY, it is over-saturated with photographers Pre-Covid, many many coffee shops had well over a years waiting list to display your local art Unfortunately, my 3 commitments were all during Covid shutdown periods I haven’t been back out inquiring since We have a pretty famous local photographer giving workshops, he has over 43,000 followers on his class page…so I have come to terms with just shooting to make myself happy But I’ll repeat, I did enjoy your vid !!

This episode was so helpful and encouraging! And… it worked! I didn’t make money, but I DID get my photo featured as the FB cover photo for a local wetland nature area! They used it (with proper credit, of course) after I shared it on their page That’s a really exciting step for a hobbyist like me! Thank you!

Great video and I thank you for the tips! brYes, I do have another question: lets say I do this with icons that you mention And than someone reaches to me to buy the photo or all rights to that photo how to value a product if I never did anything like that? How much to ask that it won't be too much and too underated at the same time? How much can charge an aspiring photographer at the begining (if we could talk more specific numbers as for orientation)?brI encourage also others to reply (especially if you're from Europe as myself) I have friends photographers, hell, I even have a cusin photographer but non of them likes to talk about money It's not that I want to get personal, just give me tips with numbers I also tried googlebrTHANK YOU! 🙏🏼

I mean, your channel is named your name LOL On as serious note, I was told by several coworkers that have seen my photographs tell me I should sell them online As a gauge, I created an account on Instagram to post photos to see if they garnered any interest So far, my images haven't gotten any more than 20 likes, many from friends and family I figure this means that there's not sufficient interest to make a business Is that a reasonable approach and conclusion?

This is really good advice I have some, what I believe, really good photographs but haven't really tried selling them Oh, I have a web site, but it's not generating anything other than expense The problem I have is that I'm an extreme introvert I can be 'on' when I need to be My whole career has pretty much been in management positions and I've done well at that but it's not my natural persona I really don't enjoy being around people at all and the thought of cold-calling on businesses or holding workshops is just not something I'm willing to do I don't even attend workshops as I know there will be other people there! I pursue photography as a way to get away from people and just be by myself I'm not naïve - I know I'm never going to be able to sell anything if I avoid people like the plague but that's just how I am I enjoy creating my art, though, so that will just have be enough Anyway, I love your channel and really have learned a lot from it Thanks for producing such great content for us!

So, ball park figure What should someone charge when selling the rights to photos to a local business? How would one begin to price something like that I'm sure there are differences in prices for, like a popular golf resort with local icons(are the icon internationally known?) & say, eg a municipal marina or, a hotel brand that has one near home Like to hear about that

Now I finally know your name 😂 In seriousness They way autoplay or using a queue works its easy to not know those details But I enjoy this channel In the lockdown period the quality of photography videos went rock bottom But your channel stayed solid and is one of my favoritesbrbrIn the lockdown my and my biz partner had like 30 peeps paid walks and workshops Right now its more like 5-8 Which is fine Projects rebounded a lot luckily

Great information Mark! My daughter runs an apartment complex in Florida and she asked her HQ if she could put up some of my photos with price tags and contact info and she did and Ive actually sold a few So yes simple steps but it does work and help

It must be so hard even if highly skilled, to make a living off wilderness or landscape photography cause as I like to say as a joke "It's not those trees that are gonna pay for your pictures!" It's a bit like wedding photography, I know so many who hate it but still accept some contracts just because it is what pays the most
