I feel like I've lost touch with my emotional side, everything I do is programed I just do things without meaning, I've apologized to people numerous times without even meaning it, I'm having trouble being present in the moment I feel very dead honestly Watching this video is my first step to get my life back Comment from : @2stonesmockingbird191 |

My girlfriend wants me to be empathic and less narcissit and i disagreed that i am not an narcissit but now i get that i was listening to reply and not to understand, which hurted her feelings alot and now i've realised i was a narcissit brI'll learn to be empathic and communicate so i can give her all my love and care, wish me the best, i need this! Thank you so much I genuinely did not understand empathy When confronted with feelings, I just listened silently and gave them a solution (of God and Jesus Christ) and that was it I genuinely didn't care But now I truly understand empathy Thank you Comment from : @LukeMcQuain |

Thank you for sharing this It's a skill I want to learn I'm almost 60yrs old, am I undoing a lot of unhelpful patterns of trauma, in defence mode As I undo this pattern, with the help of a loving partner, I am more open to new development, in this case, how to be empathic Previously I didn't even know such a thing existed, it was completely off my radar I am finally ready to sincerely reach out to others So I am so pleased that you are sharing the technique As I train, I expect it will become more rich and deeper❤ Comment from : @amandamassyn7227 |
|
|
Empathy is a grossly overrated quality I promise not to off load what burdens me on you and all I ask return is that you don't share what's troubling you with me Also don't expect people to read and/or understand your feelings and emotionsjust be an adult and say what's on your mind Comment from : @peterreed9566 |

Thank you so much for this video Thinking back on things ive done in the past and things i still continue to do has made me realise ive not been the most empathetic, and overall not been a good person to others This has led me to feel a lot of guilt and shame, and almost helpless fearing that im this terrible irredeemable person who deserves bad things to happen to them I have tried to work on myself a lot, but sometimes find myself slipping back into my old ways of viewing and doing things Seeing that many other people are dealing with the same thing makes me feel less alone❤ Comment from : @carolinefawn |

Wow, I truly appreciate your poignant observation on my generationI think alot of what made highschool grand was robbed by the social ramifications of the novel coronavirus such a social clubs and highschool dances The fact that so many in generation Z graduated really reflects their personal willpower as a collective and I've read that many have much higher than average grades, this reflects their intelligence I find it interesting and commendable that Gen Z is able to succeed in a world almost demanding of studying near the whir or a personal computer or artifical light or a smartphone, brehbr🖥🖲 googlecom/translate 👈🏿 Comment from : @RR_DM |

lol my "closest" empathy is more like "grow up, cant be that bad, dont believe you, youre only thinking about yourself, somethings wrong with you" even if you were about to off yourself great funbrThe "asking for elaboration" is so farfetched in my world I cannot even imagine anyone saying that Comment from : @alexanderher7692 |

This video was very helpful for me, thank you! I think I don't have an empathetic brain but rather a very analytic one, which can definitely kill the empathy sometimes I reckon Although being analytical does result in empathy sometimes, presumably because analyzing does also grow your understanding, I have a tendency of thinking that I understand things too easily That can make me very hard to deal with, in a discussion for example I think often my (pretty strong) opinion overlooks other people's experience, so it was great to see some ways I can consciously think about being empathetic Comment from : @youpvandijk4144 |

It's interesting life journey for me that 3 months ago I thought that I lacked negotiation skill My demands were usually strong yet I still felt like influcing people to fulfill the demand was extremely hard and painful for me So I read "Never Split the Difference", it's a book about negotiation that relies heavily on empathy They call it tactical empathy to make it sounds not weak The book literally changed my life It allows me to heal family conflicts and build trust within businessbrToday I'm checking out video on how to be more empathic, something I never envison myself doing at all It's quite amusing actually It all starts from looking at the practical benefit of empathy which is that it's the best tool for influencing peoplebrSo if any of you are not convinced that you need empathy, just realize that it will help you negotiate better, build trust, be more assertive, and influence people It's huge Don't think it's weak If you think being empathetic is weak, just put the word tactical in front of itbrbrAlso I'd like to point out that the key aspect of empathy is demonstration Don't just understand someone and not expressing it That's a huge mistake because it stops them from knowing that you understand and it also stops you from understanding more Book called "Beyond Winning" defines empathy as a demonstration of an understanding, which I agree withbrNow I need to learn to be more empathic with myself because I hold too many thoughts about other people and it causes social anxiety Comment from : @offchan |

I loved your video You are a true hero(in) of our time I'm convinced that Empathy can be learnt and taught and would love to teach it in every school and workplace It will definitely make the world a better place Also I feel that I use all my senses when im being the most empathetic You actually focus this video on listening but what do you think about teaching how to use other senses to complement a kind of toolbox? Comment from : @samirabbassidi |

Excellent video Thank you! When one is listening to another with an openness to learn, how do you recommend dealing with a situation when the person speaking states a value or opinion that goes against the listener's values or boundaries? This conflict may cause the listener to feel anxiety and distress by the clash of values or opinions Thanks! Comment from : @CDV99 |
