Keep your art on paper, you are starting to look like a billboard and once covereed you run out of space for something down the road that you fall i love with, but don't have a place to put it! Besides the fact that it looks ugly Comment from : @otetreault5103 |

My wife used to sell about $20k of her ceramics every year for a number of years, without social media She had a website, and was on Etsy and other stores, but never used Insta, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc It CAN be done, and saves time for making your stuff Comment from : @herculesrockefeller8969 |

Nice video! I think for Germany a lot of it is not applicabel I really think that my art is very good, but people here are soooo resistent to put up my art I do live in a rural area south of Colone, and I´ve tried in cieties like Colone and Aachen, too I don´t sell on my website on Shopify either Art fairs are extremely expensive here, too The situation is really very bleak in Germany Sorry for the negativaty Comment from : @sylviaeder4477 |

Totally agree about local showsbrhowever, after doing shows for 4 years, i have never seen a booth fee lower than $45, at least what i would attend Booth fees for big reputable shows are typically, for me, $100 to $200 You are right in that it doesnt have to cost a lot to stock your booth with tent, tables, displays And you meet great people!!brThis was a great video! Comment from : @susanlivingston3075 |

I was so glad to finally find a video that teaches selling art without social media But this may work only for extroverted people Shows, reaching out to cafes and shops, business cards for networking, etc, these are all great tips if one is extroverted and social Doesnt work for those of us who are introverted For introverts, media may be better for selling Comment from : @dumitriudaniela |

Cafes love to host artists if they have the space especially if they get a cut of the sales Three extra ways that you didn't mention Most of my art sells at public exhibitions/competitions The entry fee is usually less than 40 an entry and the exhibitor takes anything between 15-30 so you can adjust the price accordingly A lot of exhibitions have prizes which adds nicely to a sale Look at entering less popular categories like Works on Paper, 3D etc The second idea is encouraging your buyer to post photos of your art in situ on social media I have had more than half a dozen commissions from friends/acquaintances of people who proudly show off a painting My third idea is asking buyers if they'd like texts/emails of future works as they become available Not sure why but 3 seems to be the magic number People like to collect sets when they become a fan of your work and seem to like a link to the artist whose work they love Comment from : @Pumpkin-vg1ur |
your voice is nice too;) Comment from : @cansubasdemir235 |

Thank you! New liker I do sell here and there, I've done some fence shows (drudgery to me because you are stuck there), word of mouth and some venue sales I don't do that enough tho and as a result I have quite a few (100's) of paintings accumulated My question is how to approach a boutique to see if they want to sell my art in their establishment Any vids on that and how it would go would be so helpful Thanks again Comment from : @tslilbearshoppe9870 |

This was extremely helpful Thanks for posting! Comment from : @divittokelly5603 |
Super helpful You confirmed what I knew about the price range In fact I never can support local art bc the price is so high I get that artists should support each other-yet-we are the ones (typically) struggling esp especially when starting out I cannot support you if your lowest price is 70 or higher I don’t go to art festivals thinking how much I’m draining my pockets for art I may not even need let alone even desire Have low priced items with some quality and I’m yours❤😂 I need to get myself outthere more I’d never start on social media- so many thieves stealing work Thanks for sharing and really more like encouraging me! Comment from : @YeshuasLuVd1two |

Works for me!😎 Comment from : @ChuckStaley |
One of the single most important steps I took to selling my work was to form an LLC and get myself a tax ID If you're in the USA, at least, and want to make a living from what you do, you're going to want to legally be able to do so For me an LLC made sense, it might be different for others Do research on this to educate yourself on what legal entity makes sense for your situation Comment from : @JoeyBPhotography |

Online now it is hard to stand out unless you have some niche product People steal other people’s work and people are brutal on social media My feelings would get hurt fast 😂 I tried selling glass jewelry one time but it was a failure I would never try to sell anything again in any setting You get more enjoyment making art just for the sake of making it Once you go pro, the joy is pretty quickly extinguished Heard other people say the same thing Comment from : @Niki1968-s2f |
Very helpful, thanks Comment from : @bindibindi6031 |

great video thx for sharing, I haven't sold anything yet as I''m just getting ready to do so but have a question regarding prices if I may ask Some say theres a calculation one can follow to set your price if a gallery was going to sell it so I wonder would you use that same calculation if you were to sell privately thx Comment from : @dougsphoto |
hibrI sold art years ago in my father's restaurant, a lot of my work was hanging on the walls, i could say at least thirteen to fourteen pieces were sold, the restaurant closed two years ago, have moved to another state, and only sold two pieces really low priced at a garage sale for the neighborhood, they have them every couple months, but have tried to ask about artwork hanging opportunities at the local library, but have not heard back some of your tips are very helpful, looking to try some other tips to see how that fares, thanks so much Comment from : @irmarodriguez5182 |
Good, down to earth advice!! Comment from : @sophiak3535 |

i sell at farmers markets At the very least, its good advertising and people like meeting artists farmers markets can be found every day of the week and are affordable, Comment from : @junkboxstudio |
Depends on one's definition of "social media" I see your video ("media") on YT, which can be defined as "social" since it reaches society Some might say this video is a form of self-promotion, which would negate your points Comment from : @testchannelone6616 |
Currently I haven't any artwork that is finished to sell Yes this was helpful to me Thanks for the encouragement!!😊 Comment from : @annmarieschantz9724 |
