I had a professional website for 3 years now, and no one comes to it I saw Muata Von Kindy on a youtube video called Spectrum Miami 2024 She dosent have a website, but she has a Saatchi profile and only three painting, and 2 are sold for $1,970 How do explain that?

I've been going hard at this for nearly two years, on every platform from Saatchi to having my own website, getting representation at three different galleries, getting wonderful written reviews and tons of compliments, awards, etc But in the end, I have had only two small sales which barely covers the cost of one canvas Marketing on your own is (sorry for my French) F*cking impossible I know artists with social media followings in the hundreds of thousands and even they complain that marketing on your own hardly works at all So although this video may try to be helpful, it is not There is no formula, there is no guarantee, there is no proven way to be successful unless you get lucky or sell nudes I love painting more than life itself, but selling it is an absolute mystery I'm tired of being lectured when none of these 'techniques' work

Its a decision of being an artist or salesman Getting traffic and trying to reach more clients are harder than making arts and boring Sales requires efforts and effort is rewarded In that point reward is etsy commisions I do both for 2 years and still etsy make sales more than myself Only if you have great social media network on instagram or facebook or youtube Yes you are right, self selling is better

I notice that some really good representational art artists focus on their branding more than their product They market through all the platforms and also offer workshops , instructional videos and merch They sell their art via traditional venues as well from their web site and other platforms For them , it is a business first The artists that l like have always attracted me with their art but my long term interest with their branding As an artist myself l have purchased some streaming , process ,instructional videos which have been beneficial to my growth Although they are great artists l would hazard to guess that they generate more income in branding as opposed to painting sales

I have been selling my works on Ebay for 15 years and things have not gone bad In fact I have a power seller and in the Cuban art category I am the one that has sold the most and I continue to sell I have gotten used to this platform and now everyone knows me through it, I also have my page on Wix, but I sell more on Ebay It is my only source of income It's a matter of perseverance and dedication that creates your brand Since they know me from Ebay, they also search for me on Google and find my personal art page I believe that platforms that have a lot of traffic help artists unintentionally create traffic towards their personal niche

I downloaded your steps to sell your art online thank you Its ok but platforms like Facebook and Instagram can just shut you down with no explanation I've had accounts shut down and you can't talk to anyone from Facebook or Instagram to find out why It kind of puts me off as these platforms have full control of your social media accounts and just so what they like I just had my art page on Facebook shut down with nearly 1k members No explanation, no way to appeal!

Most ecommerce businesses will do both - direct sales for higher margins, affiliates/partners/marketplaces for the benefit of existing high traffic and sales volume Most artists will simply not have the time to do all the things required to build a long-term high traffic brand

they say making living doing art is 50 art and 50 business This is extremely mistaken Art is 90 business and 10 skill in Art You can create quality on par with Monet and Sargent, but since you don't have the name/reputation, It means nothing except to the 2 of population that can somewhat feel/recognize it and 001 that can truly value it Stereotypes of starving artist exists even today when exposure is 1000x easier than before, is because money and economies functions on business principles naturallyperiod brGood marketers with poor skill in art will out earn the best artist with poor skill in business any day of the week You want to create your passion work? do it, make it into content and get followers, viable strategy, but still a lot of marketing/social media/business accruement needed You want to quickly sell something? You create what the market want, not what you want This is the subjective real world, unless you already nurtured A lot fans, buyers don't care what you think, it's all about what they think And what they think and how they value are much more easily influenced by marketing strategies and packaging, relative principle, contrast principle etc I dunno why ppl still need this spelt out for them when there are black squares and banana taped to wall and pixel by pixel transferred image that a high schooler can do, all selling for obscene amount of $$$ than your 20 year trained traditional fine art that you had to draw 1000 live anatomy sessions to learn Marketing and Packaging people -_-

the most realistic video about this topic one day i spent hours and days to create an artwork i published it on etsy and i received 4 scam messages via etsy social media can be a good way but in the beginning its so overwhelmed cause espaecially instagram algoritm works horrible unfortunately i realized something on instagram tht only nudity takes attention and traffic to the accounts this algoritm shoul be changed!!!!
