If you are just starting out on the guitar and like fingerstyle guitar, you should take this course Comes complete with a step by step study guide and encouragement Ask my students, I don't assume anything nor leave anything out Once you get the hang of the right hand (which for most people is the "coordinated hand,") the easy 1 fingered chords on the left hand will be a welcome relief to learning the standard chords which can take months for a lot of beginners The goal here is to get you playing guitar as quickly as possible, and not looking at your guitar leaning against a wall in your house or wishing you can play Let's do this right now!!! Hi! I'm glad I stumbled on your channel 😃 I have a small 6 string guitar I bought as a souvenir in Mexico some time ago I got on YouTube and tuned it (I think pretty decently) I love your slow repetitious teaching style I got the right hand " plucking" down pretty good Placing the tip of my left finger on the chord is a little more challenging I feel like my finger is also touching the string below it I don't have long nails, but I don't have nubs either Not sure if this is the problem or if it's because it's such a small guitar there isn't much room between the strings I have subscribed and look forward to more lessons! I love this lesson I just started playing a week ago and I am making progress My biggest frustration with this is I have rather fat fingers and when I try to press only one string I tend to mute the string above or below meaning the fifth or the third I think I’m really curling my hand and using just the tip of my finger but I’m still having this problem, is there a solution? Hi Bob, I'm a bit confused with all the dates on these comments, there don't seem to be any recent ones, so I hope that everything is still functioning as it should So, a question for you - at 73 years of age, am I your oldest basic beginner? As a teenager in the 60's, I should have done like most of my friends and learnt the guitar and joined a group, but life sometimes takes you in different directions Anyway, the lockdown came, and I thought "What the hell, give it a go", but being unable to read music, having fat old arthritic fingers with no stretch, I quickly found it hard, so threw the towel in again! I did manage to get my granddaughter interested, I bought her a guitar and got her some lessons, and she loves it - now she wants 'grandad' to play the guitar with her Most of the YouTube videos that I have watched don't really inspire me, but having just watched yours, I thought that might damn well work for this old git, so I'm going to give it a go - mainly because I don't want to let my granddaughter down and, well, I think I owe it to myself to give it one last go before it's too late I suppose that's a bit of a long ramble to say that I found your videos refreshingly easy to follow, so thank you for that I might be coming at you with some questions, so you'll have to bear with me Keep up the good work, though Comment from : @thescallywagcrew
