The chord names are wrong The C he shows is a Cadd9 and the D is a Dsus4 These are not the best chords for a beginner

every time i play this it just sounds so muted even when my fingers are just radiating off the strings it sounds nothing like yours but dull and muted and it’s not the guitar the guitar is very good

Just starting out myself and I suspect that part of moving the fingers around the traditional way Is to make sure you don't cramp up You can certainly mix up the way you finger the chords Anyway, thanks for the info!
