Steinbrenner is a great leader to turnaround a sinking ship going in the wrong direction The problem is when they began to win, his over-the-top style would sooner or later undermine their rise This is when he needed to dial it back and be like the laid back owner he said he originally would

Steinbrenner’s passing, his “appearance” on Seinfeld, and his almost comical orneriness have obscured what a deplorable and toxic owner he was And like the Yankees of today, he oversaw teams that were overpaid and underperformed
