I second the grocery store tip I’m there once a year and I always learn so much by shopping And of course there are some hilarious mishaps that have occurred over the years as well Like the time I came home with a box of starch thinking it was a cake mix Or the really cheap butter that was actually a block of lard 😂

I like Die Prinzen personally and listen to them pretty regularly, I have a playlist on Spotify called Utenlandske Sanger which just means, foreign songs, or outlander songs and it’s filled with die prinzen and German music

If your into metal I would recommend Rammstein there probably like one of the first bands to come up if you search German Metal bands I also think there fairly beginner friendly (I'm a beginner and understand a good portion of what there saying)

Wow I guess people in Düsseldorf are different than in an other areas I went there many years ago 1978 I went to a town called Weiden in der Oberpfalz People were not helpful whatsoever and their dialect was also a pain I always say go to the north if you want to learn proper German I listened to the news every day several times actually and I read Heimatromane These were silly romantic novels that were short and easy to understand
