I have just been purchasing the modern commemorative proof quarters and dollars in PCGS PR70DCAM holders because I like the art I just don't see how the people submitting them are making any money because I am getting them from eBay for around the original cost plus PCGS fees, especially considering I'm sure that many of them come back as PR69 or lower or are not good enough to submit in the first place I justify buying the graded ones as I don't expect them to lose value, they won't gain value either, so collecting just to collect, not an investment Comment from : @robertvirnig42 |

This reminds me of the boom in 90’s comics Everyone noticed they could be collectibles and therefore massed produced them Making them very common I could still buy X-men comics from the 90’s for $5 But proof sets to me are something to admire and look at They are beautiful and just to know they haven’t been in anyones pocket and they are the best condition coin you can get Comment from : @JojosupremeIQ195 |

Thanks for letting us know about the different packaging to silver content I have started collecting proof and silver proof sets going back to the late 50s I plan on these being kept for the long haul and passed down to my grandson, so the market price fluctuation is not a concern, except it makes it easier for me to complete my collections Comment from : @handley2645mh |
what about the proof set 1999 s with close AM penny value Comment from : @paulwilliams5313 |
I like them Low mintage alone is worth having them I have all proof sets from 54 to 2021 Broke open put into 2x2s and in notebook binders They are the most detailed of coins You collect uncerculated and business coins due to low mintages Proofs are lower and quality of coin is better for the price I dont understand the hype of not collecting them myself Maybe because they keep getting a negative review I will collect them Comment from : @daddy-o7137 |
Actually, they put the 1970, 1971, and 1972 in blue proof set boxes I know this, because I inherited 1--1970, 2-1971, and 2-1972 blue proof sets in a family inheritance from a relative who worked for the Department of the Treasury Comment from : @AlchemyMinds |

I think my coin dealer ripped me off I sold her 1977-1979 proof sets together with a 1968 ,1969 and 1961 and she only gave me a total of $25 I figured the 1961 should be worth at least $20 alonebrI'm never going back to her shop Comment from : @lindaeasley5606 |

I don’t know anything about coins but if these sets lose value for the most part makes no sense to buy if they’re just gonna devalue even in the long term I guess unless silver sets and silver shoots up to like $50/oz so yea not happening Comment from : @Bravo57-57 |
Good video I learned a lot Do a lot of people just buy them to crack and get the coin they want? If so is this ok to do? Comment from : @rickywheeler6417 |

It's interesting with proof setsit doesn't seem like they move too much (and the 70's-80's don't move at all), but it seems like if you bust them out, they go up a bit more as individual proof coinswhat do you think? Comment from : @MrRanman91 |
I had a green box it was a bank set what were they Comment from : @bill4572 |

For me, the answer is no The guy on HSN can sell the annual proof clad sets for $299 (including statehood quarters) and I know that my local dealer will offer only offer me $2900 for the whole 10 year run (lol) I follow the adage "buy what you like" The statehood quarter program was fun thing for me and my family My Annual US Mint purchases generally curtailed after the statehood program I became bored with the proof ASE, so I stopped buying them If I brought these coins for investment purposes, I would be disappointed Once again, buy what you like Comment from : @smc3165 |

Comment from : @mrsyukoncornelius1732 |
Very informative video I bookmarked it I personally have only bought one proof set, the 2019 silver, because it was the first year they did the half, quarter, and dime in 999 silver To be honest, I personally don't care about any coin minted after 1964, unless it is at least 90 silver I may even crack open that proof set and send the silver coins in to be graded Again, thanks for the video It will help me to stay away from any proof sets that don't contain at least 90 silver coins Comment from : @douglaswilliams6834 |
Numerous local coin dealers have told me they won't even buy them Comment from : @blueshattrick |

I've got a coin guy who is sitting on crates of silver and clad proof sets He's even sold me a couple years at spot price plus a percentage He got a whole bunch graded and lost his ass on them Though he did have a couple come back pf 70 ultra and dcam The only way he'll ever get his money back is when silver hits $50 an ounce Comment from : @jtstacey83 |
