I have watched both of your FERS supplement videos Thank you for breaking it down I am 55 with almost 26 years of FERS service (plus 9 years of prior active duty Army) My plan is to retire next year in August (MRA) as I'll have 36 total Federal service I also retired from the Army Reserve With deployments and mobilizations, I'll draw that retirement at 575 The FERS supplement is a nice bonus to my expected retirement income Thanks! Will the FERS Supplement be automatically included with the basic monthly survivor pension for a surviving spouse (who is under age 60) of the employee if the employee passes away during the job before even filing for retirement, and has more than 10 years of creditable civilian service? This scenario is very elusive with only vague information available on the internet (most discussion is geared toward survivor spouses of those former workers who already retired/became annuitants) The work file in such an event (death before retirement) is handled by the employing agency and not OPM And HR specialists from the agency seem unaware of the supplement or say that it's only available for the federal employee looking to retire early, not survivor spouses Comment from : @dreamstorm3297 |

To confirm I understood it correctly, I will not be subject to a review until age 57 (Law Enforcement retiree), correct? So, will it be ok to work the entire year from when I turn 56 until age 57, or will the review consist of going back a year (reviewing my tax records)? Comment from : @angelramos-rojas6350 |

Hi new subscriber here, I retired September 2022 age 55 under a VERA/VSIP August 2023 I reached my MRA 566 years of age with 34 years and two months of service Two questions how quickly will I start receiving it ? And what percentage of my age 62 SS will OPM apply it to? One more question if they somehow delay paying is the first check retroactive to my MRA birthday? Thanks Comment from : @gregthomas2448 |

I did not know that the Fers Supplement was also subject to income tax Comment from : @sjs747 |

The info provided in this video isn't accurate enough for a true estimate Don't use your expected SS value at age 62 for the estimate; the SRS calculation will give you a lower amount (for me, about $175 less) Comment from : @kyleby2 |

Can you calculate 36 years I’m getting 009 percent Will OPM pay out 90 percent in Fers supplement of my estimated social security payment at 62 Comment from : @66pacesetter |
