What you have to understand is, a real Leslie doesn't just "make sound" It sounds amazing because it's a big wooden enclosure that 1 has a built-in, all-tube amplifier Tube amplifiers are famous for their warmth and attack (or kick), and 2 It features a dual projection system: one is the spinning dual horn, the other is a big woofer facing downwards, with a rotating drum around it The drum has an open section through which the sound of the woofer comer out Finally, 3 the Leslie moves a lot of air, unlike your toy amp in a harness Not only do you hear its sound, you feel it

Consider modifying a regular turntable, take the speed up to at least 78rpm but I'd suggest maybe taking it higher if you know much about modifying electronicsbrbrEdit: second thought, I think a pottery wheel would do even better

This is really cool! There’s another thing that I discovered recently I have a ceiling fan in my living room I play my 1969 fender telecaster through a split signal to 2 Different Center black face amps from the early 1960s When I turn on the ceiling fan the sound changes and sounds exactly like a Leslie! Crazy

I've been into music gear for what you might call a long time I've never seen actual horns used for Leslie speakers I've only seen carved blocks of Styrofoam Hmm At my job, we get a lot of inch and half thick Styrofoam I already figured I could make a Leslie speaker horn out of that I've been wanting to make an isolation box for my old Silvertone mini amp Now, I think I'll make the isolation box with a spinning horn on the front with the motor attached to the outside

There were also cheaper Leslie imitations with a kind of fan before the speaker, built in cheap organs, so the manufacturer didn't need a license, could it do easier and the customer was glad about the animation
