So these ones arent technically delegated by wizards these are from the vendors who handle cards for big stores like walmart target etc and they do it a lot with pokemon too But yeah, they are almost always a scam

I realize this is an old video, but it's relevant to a similar experience I had at a store recently brbrI think you said it best when you said that it's the uninformed that are really hurt by these deals I'm coming back to Magic after about a 25 year hiatus, and the rules have changed, the allowed cards are different, etc, and having to sort of relearn this stuff while also teaching my kid about the game (she wants to learn so that's why I'm back in it), is frustrating She sees stuff like this at Target and gets excited because "It's shiny and cool!" and doesn't know the difference Luckily, I'm savvy enough to do 2 minutes of research at the shelf before picking stuff like this up, but she doesn't know any better brbrThis is deplorable and, honestly, takes a lot of the joy out of the hunt when you have to sort through bullshit like this to get to anything meaningful or current Good on you for calling it out

Worked at big lots and we got these for Pokemon For those wanting it, It was like an $8 repack set, but it had 2 boosters worth of cards so it was a bit cheaper But holy god that MTG pack being $18 i don't think I could sell this as a cashier

For a short amount of time, many years ago, Wall-Fart sold repackaged Base 1 Pokemon cards mixes with Base 2, Fossil, and Junglebr There were some good cards in those packs

I 100 agree with the idea that you should always buy singles, because you know exactly what you are getting, if you aren't doing something like draft you aren't getting the value out of it 9 times out of 10, and that 1 time isn't going to turn some profit you are expectingbrbrYou are more likely going to get what you need from your local LGS's singles than from a pack Don't have an LGS? TCGplayer is good enough for the average consumer in my experience

Put it back and just walk away Save your money instead If you see anyone nearby considering picking them up? INFORM THEM The more people know, the better

these kind of repacks are rampant among all of the big 3 TCGs, the worst i find is yugioh but pokemon is also up there on how many variations there are it's sickening a lot of them advertise "chance of a rare pack!" but the sets are no more than 5yo at best, and some of those products bdon't even come with a pack,/b it's just 20ish loose cards in a waste of material
