In Simplified Chinese, you don't use your heart to love, that's why I don't like simplified Chinese, as you can't really see the meaning in those character, but it's so truth that they are a lot easier to learn to write Thanks a lot for the video btw

Thank you so much for making such helpful videos You are reminding me through the tough times and mental blocks that learning Mandarin is still fun and surprisingly easy and that's helping to spur me on One thing though, i downloaded the Dim Sum software but it doesn't work I can type and highlight the hanzi, but the dictionary seems to be empty and doesn't even understand 中国 It also won't demonstrate stroke order Did i do something wrong, or does it only work in conjunction with all the other software you provided? 谢谢你

I think only 800 characters were simplified, I read and write both and don't find it confusing In china you will find lots of traditional Chinese on old temples and buildings all of which would be meaningless to a person who only knows the simplified characters

I disagree about traditional vs simplified characters Simplified characters derive from the traditional, so once you know the traditional it is a fairly easy to pick up the simplified, but more difficult to do the reverse Also, with the simplified you lose radicals which I think makes it more difficult to understand and memorize the characters For example, the character for "look" has eye in it but in simplified the character for "eye" disappears and is replaced by a couple random lines

yes Traditional Chinese is mostly used in Hong Kong Macau and Taiwan But to me,I think traditional chinese looks better and you only can write calligraphy with Traditional chinese :) I came from Hong Kong but after I learn Traditional Chinese it's easy for me to learn simplified ones :D sorry for my bad english! simplified: 你的中文写的很好!加油! traditional:你的中文寫的很好!加油!

Only for the pronunciation and writing system! Chinese grammar is extremely easy Basic SVO structure No singular/plural, no tenses, no gender, no verb conjugation, no cases, etc

Hi, quite excited to find this I am a Chinese student in USA, I have thought about making a similar video What u teach is very useful and pinyin is really helpful to read and type Chinese words There some more complicated words has very interesting origins like the word 卡, upside means up, beneath is down It means u cannot go up nor down, so you are stuck Good luck with your Chinese studying :)

Traditional Chinese all the way!!! All schools still only teach traditional chinese in the HK and all official documents and 99 signs are written in traditional chinese Actually many Hong Kong people are hostile towards using simplified Chinese in HK
