I hold an Insurance License and have looked through a ton of Pet Insurance Policies Most of them are garbage My dog is 9 and healthy Because of her age the policies are expensive and have a ton of exclusions It's llike a 50 year old trying to get affordable coverage through the "Affordable Health Care Act's" healthcaregov portal

I have 2 pet insurance policies and I pay roughly $40/pet All in all, I don’t think the pet policy is worth the headache You have to manually send claims, hold and keep track of all receipts for said claims…and they will still try to find ways to deny claims clearly written covered in the policy Insurance companies are the true scum of the western world I’m more than likely going to drop the policies and just turn premiums into monthly payments into a savings for them

Definitely worth it in my case Both dogs diagnosed with cancer within 2 months of each other We have Embrace and claims paid 5-7 working days via direct deposit Even if I multiplied their highest monthly premium for the life of the pet, I would not have come out ahead if I had put $$ into monthly savings account

For me, it was worth it At the time, my pup got pneumonia and was in the hospital for a week He was about 1 year old and if I hadn’t had the insurance, my out of pocket would have been very expensive He is now 2 and is healthy and happy Having insurance gave me peace of mind

In my case it was definitely worth it One day our cat was acting weird, quiet not moving much till we took it to the animal hospital Four blood transfusions and about 8 days in the hospital racked up a $14,000 bill If we didn't have pet insurance we would have to decide how much our animal is worth Since we did have pet insurance we only had to pay $1,400 At 30 bucks a month we would break even with monthly premiums at about 38 years Worth it to us
