I have to disagree with the legendary CrossClimate2 Had them on my SUV and was disappointed in their snow traction Once the plows go by, they are fine Thanks to them, I'm back to 3-season tires and a winter tire set Comment from : @fartman10284 |
I’m a 41 year old dude so I spend time watching videos about tire quality Don’t worry I’m still cool though Comment from : @Anacridhaze |

You can never go wrong with Michelin They are great But there are better tires out there than Michelin across the board Comment from : @Wallymakesstuff |
The Michelin CrossClimate2 I used on a 2014 Toyota Sienna provided noticeably worse ice and snow traction and braking than the Bridgestone Blizzak I used in winter I used the CrossClimate2 only in Spring/Summer/Fall but I was sometimes caught by a late or early snow or ice storm while they were on The CrossClimate2 also provided poorer directional stability on dry pavement than even the Blizzaks I suspect that the reason for this poor performance was that the tread on the CrossClimate2 was unusually narrow - even narrower than the tread on the Bridgestone Blizzak which were already narrower than on all other all-season tires I had used on the Sienna To make matters even worse, the CrossCliimate2 wore unexpectedly quickly I normally got about 35,000 miles from regular all-season tires (only Michelin was used after the originals wore out) on the Sienna (it's a 47,000 pound vehicle!) before I replace them at 4/32 inch tread for wet weather safety The CrossClimate2 was down to 4/32 inch of tread after about 22,000 miles of use when I sold the Sienna in 2022 My poor experience with CrossClimate2 were apparently not a fluke since others on car forums reported the same issues I'm quite obsessive about tires I check and adjust tire pressures very frequently and track tread depth in a logbook for each vehicle I used the think that the mountain/snowflake symbol on a tire sidewall was an assurance of excellent winter performance but the CrossClimate2 disproves that I've been a big fan of Michelin tires for over 50 years and still am The Michelin Alpin 5 winter tires I'll be installing again on our Porsche SUV tomorrow have been extraordinary through two winters Comment from : @H2SO4H20 |
MICHELIN tires also lasted much longer on my motorcycles Comment from : @johnmitchell8925 |
I worked as a mechanic for a large fire department in Florida for over a decade We tried ever brand out there For longer front tire longevity Michelins lasted twice as long as anyother brand , but also cost twice as much But pulling a fire 🔥 truck out of service to replace a worn tire is a major hassle 😡 Comment from : @johnmitchell8925 |
Michelin Defender snow traction? Please You must not actually drive them in snow Comment from : @1wheeldrive751 |
Any WRG5 video coming? Comment from : @SharingAccount-lw9gw |
I put the cross climate 2’s on my Subaru… Comment from : @davidmccool2458 |
Why have you guys still not reviewed the Falken Wildpeak AT Trail? It is a super popular on-road all terrain tire that would work great on a lot of crossovers and SUVs Comment from : @SamJD94 |
It's not even that close to 2025 Do better Comment from : @YTMsux |
Had to get red of my Michelins after 35,000 because of noise and yes I did rotate them every 5,000 miles they still had about 5/32 left but the noise was unbelievable Comment from : @garybongard2711 |
May have replace my Nokian tires after 20 years of perfect service Comment from : @mikerepairsstuff |
I would highly recommend checking out Tire Rack reviews too because they have both written and video comparisons of tires in the similar categories For instance, they show how for similar or less money you can get a better riding and quieter tire in the Grand Touring segment than the recommended Standard Touring Defender 2 recommended here Comment from : @TheDodgefan9 |
Much more useful information is how a tire performs after 50,000 miles of use! Comment from : @BradThePitts |

Can scores be compared against categories? For example, the Defender 2 vs the Crossclimate 2 Will you be testing the new Goodyear Weatherready 2? Comment from : @ipcamtalk4314 |
I've got the Michelin CrossClimate2 tires on my Lexus RX350 and they sure are GR8! Amazing traction in all weather Pricey, but Costco had an awesome sale on a set of 4 Comment from : @barrydraper |
I have had defenders for years When I went o change the tires on our ‘18 crosstrek the defender was not made in the right size It was after I bought the Goodyear weather ready that the defender2 came out in the right size The Goodyear tires are an enormous disappointment Comment from : @Subie-Driver |
No surprise with Nokian R5 or any tire listed Basically buy brand name tires Comment from : @simplygregsterev |
just picked up michelin Pilot AS4's pumped to try them out Comment from : @Gator115 |
Its very interesting to see that CR top pick for offroad tire is continental terrain contact a/t which wasn't the case with me compared to Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac, BFG KO2, Falken Wildpeak AT3W, TOYO OC AT3 Nitto Terra Grappler was the closest to Continental Terrain contact a/t Both the Nitto & Continental is on my not to buy list as I wasn't happy Living in CO I need 3PMSF rating so I haven't tried R/Ts or M/Ts I bet they are better than the A/Ts I've tried when it comes to offroad But I'm just a average joe vs CR do testing scientifically in a controlled environment So customers may listen to CR I suppose Comment from : @LionRunner |
Not a single American company Comment from : @stevedohnal1412 |

This is missing the best tires for EVs! Comment from : @dsvillalva |
For me, it’s Michelin or nothing Comment from : @DoctorSkillz |
Why do you interchangeably use “all weather” and “all season”? They are not the same All season can’t be considered all weather because they lack the ability to perform well in snow All weather can be considered all season because they will perform well in all 4 seasons Comment from : @Lancers262 |
Been running TerrainContact A/T's for 4yrs on Tacoma and now Tundra, very happy with them Great in winter as well but since tread depth is getting down there, I'll be switching over to Blizzak LT in a couple weeks but plan on running out the tread on the TerrainContact's come spring Will be replacing with the same Only down side is the price has gone up $100 per tire since 2020 Also there's no way your getting 70k miles out of them, maybe 60k Good even wear, regular rotation Given the number of weights on my Method rims, they struggled to balance them Comment from : @1jfmurray |
Michelin and continental all paid up Comment from : @04tsxpower |

Loads of crap!brEven all-seasons and all-weather top tyres are not recommended for areas having all four seasons, they are below top winter tyres in the winter and below top summer tyres in the summerbrCheck Tyre Reviews, with drive-tests and measurements for all types of tyres for far better recommendations, based on real data Comment from : @codincoman9019 |
Best tires for 2012 Toyota Sienna V6 FWD? Comment from : @risshirajshah9593 |

The Cross Climate is rated at 60k miles In CR magazine it was rated at 80k miles Why the difference? Comment from : @Wextopher |
Michelin defenders, cant beat them had the continental terrain contact a/t They were a good tire just didn't last that long a/t tires don't clean out in mud anyway just get a larger highway tire and a winch you'll be better off Comment from : @BrianBourgeois- |
