I love coffee but I hate the coffee industry All those farmers are not the ones who become filthy rich but it's always the big western companies selling the end product Meanwhile the farmers are left struggling to make a living Comment from : @VURCHOObeats |

I roast coffee for myself but I share it when I can I shared some Catuai from Sul de Minas Brazil, natural process, and my boss said "I told you that I don't like flavored coffee!" but she was tasting the natural cocoa, cane sugar flavors She was always kind of a super taster My coworker and I just laughed and explained to her that no flavor was added to it She didn't like the coffee but it told me a lot about single origin coffee I enjoy it every day! I understand the need for a catchy title, but considering the whole process of coffee and all the work that is done by the farmers SO coffee Specialty Coffee is not expensive Compare a nice coffee to the price of a nice liquor or wine and you will see that—like these others—coffee is a beautiful product with amazing aromatics and flavor complexity well worth the price IMO, good specialty coffee should have a min price of around $15-20usd/12oz This would guarantee that the farmers and roasters get what they deserve Traceability is an important thing, too We should be pushing harder to get the coffee traced back to the farm it came from, and in doing so give credit to these hardworking people Comment from : @DevotedCoffeeCo |

Hopefully the farmers start to make cooperatives not just for processing the coffee but also for growing in steps of the supply of coffee to the world They will be part of the profits of each step and wont be left out doing an amazing job but in poverty Comment from : @adan507 |

There are some small coffee growers in Palani Hills growing it If the consumers adopt responsible consumption and leading brands come forward to promote them, small growers could reap better price to match the dropped yields due to climate change Comment from : @jeypeesustainabilityfoundation |

Single-origin coffee is like the fine wine of the coffee world! 🍷☕ The attention to detail at every step—from the specific region it’s grown in to how it’s processed and roasted—really sets it apart But yeah, that extra care definitely drives up the price Do you think the flavor difference is worth the higher cost, or is it just fancy marketing for coffee lovers? 😄 Comment from : @processarea91 |

It's interesting how she frame the entire Brazilian Coffee industry as low altitude, mechanized, high yield, low quality stuff, when that's not even close to the truth Yes, there are high yield coffee insanely big coffee farms, that mass produces the of the coffee most of the people in the world ends up drinking, but there are also higher altitude coffee farms, forest shade coffee farms, bird eaten/pooped coffee farms, Brazil coffee production is spread over a geographic area around 1/3 of the size of Europe, and there are farmers producing coffee in about any way and quality you can imagine Comment from : @nichendrix |
|
Middle men screw the farmers The whole world is made up of people trying to get rich without working off other people Comment from : @jason19872011 |

The ones that do all the work are still getting the least The farmers! Try to buy 12 oz of single origin roasted coffee at a coffee shop for less than $20 and you will be shocked Some may charge up to $30, or higher for 12 oz It will be rare that they pay more than $800 for a pound of green beans Comment from : @rlb2444 |

I'm in a coffee business & Single origin are expensive because it's the farmers I work with 150 farmers & I don't get paid but I get whatever the farmers pay me after I sell for them I sell & the buyer transfer the amount I negotiated to the farmers bank account & the farmers pay me whatever they wish Comment from : @phew007 |

The roasters and packers do absolutely nothing compared to the producer and still receive at least 70 more In the entire production chain, from the land to the packaging, the person who spends the most time in this entire process should be paid more Comment from : @todoxe |
|
For all the work that goes into picking, sorting, carrying, washing, rinsing, air drying etc, etc WE AS CONSUMERS SHOULD BE PAYING A FAIR & GOOD PRICE TO THE FARMERS&LABORERS Comment from : @forestgreen916 |
|
I actually think $45,000 USD/pound is more sustainable for Joseph Who cares what Joseph thinks is more sustainable If he can sell it for more, good for him Every farmer thinks higher prices are more sustainable for them What an idiotic statement, should have stayed on the cutting floor Who edits these videos?
