The proper way of using 100 extra virgin olive oil is soak them for a week Get them out and put them in a bowl of mild dish liquid (Dawn preferably) and let them sit a while so the soap draws the oil off the coin Rinse with non mineral distilled water DO NOT RUB!!!! Do not use tap water!!! Use a hair dryer on high fan and heat to dry them quicklyDO NOT RUB, PAT OR WHIPE THE COIN WITH ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!brbrRepeat process till satisfied The key to this method is patience I know people who let them sit in virgin oil days, months even years!brbrHandle coin on edges as much as possible This process works and it dont work sometimes Coin damage can be done if not being careful at all times during process Comment from : @rickybarber8818 |

I did this on a pile of Georgian coppers but I left them in for 4 months Worst thing I ever did! No matter how much hot water I put on them they still coated in oil I keep them far away from my cabinets and collections Do not ever do this to your coins Comment from : @TheDukesOfDerbyshire |
