The long term repercussions may not be known, but the short term repercussions for me are that I get to eat and stay off the street for a bit longer I cant work (disabled) and so I don't know what I would do if I didnt have this source of income

My family loves donating blood and plasma There are five of us, and we usually go to the donation center for fun and enjoyment because we love our bonding We are not being paid by the center We are just offered a meal, and we're happy with that! It's not a big deal after all It''s our very own simple way of saving lives! And we are enjoying it By the way, it's the Red Cross Philippines, so we are really not after the money ☺️

80 of all plasma collected goes directly to big pharma so they can make meds and money Only 20 goes to the Red Cross They're are making a fortune from us, while giving us mere chump chain I get a lousy $90 a week I do this only because i have to It's been a crazy year for my husband and I He's worked very hard on his field for 30 years, until a series of unfortunate medical events began in Jan Temp disability thru boss work insurance has been exhausted I'm disabled So at this point plasma income is all we have to buy food I believe since plasma is so important in saving lives they should be a little more appreciative to those of us that are taking risk with our own health doing this I'm not a greedy person I just wish they would do a little better

I've been donating for years and have even worked at a center My boss said one donation can be worth up to 1,000 dollars They hook us up after making us wait a bit to get screened, and the whole process takes about an hour roughly I always believe they should be paying the donors more EVERY person that sticks you either just finshed training there at the center or are one of few that have stuck around a little while These are not nurses or any registered medical professionals They're entry level jobs and they don't pay them very well either It's a crazy profitable business and they should be paying us all more 40 dollars the first visit and 80 the second Every week, only twice a week
