This was one of the greatest shows I've ever seen NIN "opened" for BowiebrInstead of a traditional opening band/headliner format, members of Bowie's band slowly filtered into NIN's set and members of NIN slowly filtered out until it was just Bowie's bandbrShockingly, the show I saw, a lot of people left when it was clear that it was just Bowie and his band It was definitely a NIN crowdbrI had the chance to talk to Trent before a show he was doing with Jane's Addiction and Street Sweeper at the same venue I asked him about this show and if he noticed when the crowd leftbrHe said he did and was upset about it I bet all those people that at the time were kids regret leaving I bet they don't tell anyone they left knowing now what they missed

I would agree with you but I would say post 1980 his Berlin trilogy 76-79 is some of his finest work and his 1980 album Scary Monsters is perhaps his very bestAfter that he meandered thru the 80s and while making some fine efforts in the 90s never really got back on track Also he always has had top flight musiciansbut he is the genius behind the great worksadly, it all isn't Reznor idolizes Bowie, btw, that's how this pairing occurred Perhaps my comment was too harsh, to each his own

actually i havenot sure what Bowie saw in any of this, except perhaps a shift in style to keep relevantbut I have never found Reznors work to be nearly as refined or creative as Bowies, but i realize its subjectivejust dont get the keyboard abuse shit at all
