@sandaaliviirus
How would you compare Rancilio Rocky SD against these ones in James's review?
Comment from : @sandaaliviirus

@filiplindovsky87
Hi, new Eureka Mignon 65 All Purpose?
Comment from : @filiplindovsky87

@GriuGriu64
Tell me why I like bellows
Comment from : @GriuGriu64

@DanielDenoted
Can you do this again, but for poor people 🙏
Comment from : @DanielDenoted

@unvergebeneid
You should do a "best grinder under 80 decibels" video 😄brWith most grinders, when I switch them on, the noise alone makes me want to go back to bed
Comment from : @unvergebeneid

@jyde1201
Could be nice to test Profitec single dose grinder
Comment from : @jyde1201

@bennettheller6521
It's really disappointing that most of these are well above 499 now
Comment from : @bennettheller6521

@0bzen22
DF64 23 with the slanted silicone cup holder and the metal button brbrReally like it, no complains You can use it without the below if you want, give the top a couple of slaps and it achieves the same effectbrbrFeels nice and solid and heavy The cup and it's cup holder work great If you like the look of it, and what it does, I can recommend 440 euros, it's my end-game grinder, I don't see anything worth changing Maybe the burrs eventually brbrDo a burr alignment out of the box Was fine for me, but you never know I understznd why they wouldn't spend too much time on calibration, for the price, it's a bit of a pain to do
Comment from : @0bzen22

@darkestdot2752
@jameshoffmann can you take the Timemore and do a partial size analysis of the same grind setting at the different speeds Can you also do a comparison of their different grinders and what going up in price gains?
Comment from : @darkestdot2752

@sangkyunpark
Would love to see a review of the Profitec Twist 54 single dose 😊
Comment from : @sangkyunpark

@WilyTuber
All of these cheapo Chinese grinders put together don't hold a candle to a mazzer super jolly let's get real here
Comment from : @WilyTuber

@srnideconia
Thanks for the video, very good I don't know what's going on with the prices, in most reviews I see that they ‘discourage’ the Niche Duo because of its price, however, at least in Spain, while the Niche Duo is below 600€, the 064s is at 699€ and the DV83V at 680€
Comment from : @srnideconia

@skullmurdoc
I don't understand why, in the nitpick, you complain about the sound level of the Sette 270 but not the DF64, even though your test shows the decibel level is higher on the DF64brbrI was about to purchase the DF64, but it seems very loud Could you clarify?
Comment from : @skullmurdoc

@wesmac3349
James: "I hate bellows"brAlso James: "this needs a bellow"
Comment from : @wesmac3349

@JK-we1dr
Good call, on the retake thank you
Comment from : @JK-we1dr

@JamesBrittonIRL
No consumer needs a grinder valued even close to $500
Comment from : @JamesBrittonIRL

@benahaus
Aren't quieter and cheaper about the only improvements available at this point? I would be far more interested in GMO coffee like hybridizing with cacao etc
Comment from : @benahaus

@robertoRubio-ng4nm
Hi there! You should include the Ceado Life
Comment from : @robertoRubio-ng4nm

@tacticalmochi8044
If I only use this for espresso, what would you recommend?
Comment from : @tacticalmochi8044

@Despiiiiii
oh, the sprayer… 🤡🤡🤡
Comment from : @Despiiiiii

@rosegilman1454
Df64 gen2 34900 preorder on turinout oc stok 🎉 if u csn wait till after chrisas
Comment from : @rosegilman1454

@fathemabegum6012
Hi James Please can you review the new eureka mignon single dose pro that’s been recently released?
Comment from : @fathemabegum6012

@sealeron6977
Have you or can you do a review of the Jolly Dosato Grinder from La Pavoni - I cant find a single review video on the internet with this unit
Comment from : @sealeron6977

@DavenH
I very much don't like that "workflow" is used in the context of coffee What have we done
Comment from : @DavenH

@greggmetal
James , please make the comparison between Varía VS6 and Niche Duo , I’m trying to make a decision between these 2 - Thanks
Comment from : @greggmetal

@183pempek
I have antonbar at work and I wanted to do a test measuring the size of the coffee, but I never fought that there would be someone on YouTube who had the same idea I am really delighted with this review
Comment from : @183pempek

@MachielGroeneveld
If I'm honest this feels like a relatively good round up of grinders, but that's me
Comment from : @MachielGroeneveld

@jamesonnephi
I was really considering two Timemore and DF64 Until I realized that the Timemore isn’t $449 anymore, it’s jumped up to $600!
Comment from : @jamesonnephi

@noyb-yb
A great video, please do another grinder video for single-dose espresso grinders with price of up to $1000 UK/US/Euro dollars Thank you
Comment from : @noyb-yb

@hKufeldt
Hey James,brbrI have a data analysis suggestion for the particle size analysis When viewing data so starkly similar--it would be helpful to have a "negative" control Just a $20 grinder from amazon, with poor performance, so that you can get an idea of how much better these grinders are from your basic entry-level In particular, this lends confidence that your instrument is producing results that are meaningful and it is measuring what we think it is measuringbrbrAn additional readout of this data would be to numerically define the quantity of fines produced One could set a size range to define the "fines", (20-100uM) and take the area under the curve in that range to more directly compare the amount of fines with a single numerical readout Likely an exponential regression of that curve area would get you what you need brbrFantastic content as always--I was very excited to see data of this caliber Cheers!
Comment from : @hKufeldt

@tommykebschull9439
Wow! Some of these grinders have gone up in price a LOT since this video came out just 10 months ago I guess that's the power of James Hoffmann advertising 🥲
Comment from : @tommykebschull9439

@PubRunner
I actually like grinder that is in my 3 oracles Yes I have 3 Two functional and 1 I use as a single dose grinder as it has a faulty steam boiler but I am looking at a DF series grinder to replace it so it can be retired for parts I also have wa really good hand grinder that does excellent espresso but I can’t be assed adjusting it all the time So I and going to get two of the upgraded versions
Comment from : @PubRunner

@markpickton5209
Hello, thank you as always great presentation! So, turin k54 , you cannot buy an upgrade and when I asked if I could buy replacement blades or burrs, they responded we do not offer upgrades for that machinebrIn fact they advocate replacing the burr at least once a year Please end my confusion
Comment from : @markpickton5209

@_offblack
What would say is the best espresso grinder under 1,000 ?
Comment from : @_offblack

@FrezoreR
How does the new Gaggia grinder compare? I know it's similar to the eureka but can it be classified as the same?
Comment from : @FrezoreR

@SFA985
British Eureka pronunciation is interesting! 🇺🇸
Comment from : @SFA985

@mastermachetier5594
My df64 gen 2 broke after 3 weeks of use sadly
Comment from : @mastermachetier5594

@chrismathis4162
If I spend that kind of money on a grinder, it better come with a BJ
Comment from : @chrismathis4162

@chrismathis4162
£500 for a grinder You’re shitting me
Comment from : @chrismathis4162

@ze_ep
Love bellows! Give it a couple of thumps, it's like a stress toy
Comment from : @ze_ep

@tinamadrid1082
James can you do a review on the Breville BCG600SIL Dose Control Pro Coffee Bean Grinder It has great reviews and Breville is a respectable company I would like to know your personal opinion about this grinder Thanks
Comment from : @tinamadrid1082

@SergeZintchenko
@jameshoffman are you going to talk about ginormous Geimori GU78?brCommunity is waiting
Comment from : @SergeZintchenko

@neilhallett2836
Very honest review, incredibly knowledgeable and helpful for me to decide which one I want as my first coffee grinder
Comment from : @neilhallett2836

@SylvainProov
I'd like to replace my Mignon Specialita, my #1 choice is the Scuptor 064S but, omg the price is way higher now (699€, approx 543£) :/ The DF64 Gen2 is not bad actually, im a bit scared about the noise :o
Comment from : @SylvainProov

@PieterBreda
Ik heb er net een besteld
Comment from : @PieterBreda

@jeremiahsstudentpilotadven7834
I have the Sette 270W and can’t stand it It performs very well with light and medium roast coffee beans; however, it falls apart quite a bit concerning dark roast coffee I do enjoy a smooth Cuban coffee brewing Mayorga Cuban coffee blend bit the Sette is just extremely inconsistent concerning dark roast coffee beans I plan on upgrading up to a Ceado E37s soon Btw I am brewing with a Profitec Pro 700
Comment from : @jeremiahsstudentpilotadven7834

@EdMonet
No idea what the brand or name of the second grinder was / terrible video
Comment from : @EdMonet

@Goatboy1981
It seems that several of these “sub £500” models have found their way North of £500 since this video was released I’m curious to know, are there many single-dose grinders are available ABOVE this price bracket? (Aside from the DF83 and the Timemore 78, which seem to be larger versions of their 64mm siblings)
Comment from : @Goatboy1981

@Jon-s8y
Glad I bought the Timemore when it was on Kickstarter, seems I got a bargain! (Swapped from the Niche, prefer the flat burr taste)
Comment from : @Jon-s8y

@robmarsden9486
Hi, Some guidance please I prefer a Moka pot or Aeropress I am looking to get my first grinder Any recommendations for one? Price point, say £200 - TIa
Comment from : @robmarsden9486

@posterestantejames
No 60mm flat burr Royal/Feima 600n/601n? Bummer!😕
Comment from : @posterestantejames

@SJ__Daily_Dose
Can you please review DF64V grinder
Comment from : @SJ__Daily_Dose

@georgetheoxaratos2361
Hello JamesWhy the Varia Vs3 gen2 is not there?🤔
Comment from : @georgetheoxaratos2361

@KagrithKriege
I really wish we could have a compelling grinder at the 100$ price point Something for those of us starting with the Cafe RomabrbrFeels goofy to use a grinder that costs twice as much as the espresso machinebrLet alone a grinder that costs as much or more than the espresso machine in general
Comment from : @KagrithKriege

@Pekroo
Thank you James, another great job in the video <3
Comment from : @Pekroo

@yungdbo247
What is that cup you use to pour your beans with? Looking for something similar
Comment from : @yungdbo247

@williamwhite1982
The Niche should cost half as much since it is made in China!
Comment from : @williamwhite1982

@eTreyu27
if the Timemore was still cheaper than the DF64, i def would have gonnat that route The design is cool (would prob mod the hopper tho), but it is currently double the price in the US So I'm going with the Turin version of the V2 DF
Comment from : @eTreyu27

@SaludContable
Wow, impressive your expertise, cheers
Comment from : @SaludContable

@russianbot8557
I‘ve been using the Niche Zero for over a year now and I‘m pretty happy with the filter coffee I mostly grind it far corser than the usual scale, I set the grind for most filter coffees to about „twelve o'clock“ at the top center of the grind setting, outside the marked range The Niche Zero can nevertheless be set to this range and works perfectly there - and grinds very good filter coffee there
Comment from : @russianbot8557

@mledkov
Wow, this review is surprisingly similar to a review of the best headphone amplifier under £500 Both review and a thing being reviewed is a lot of work, has great production, and doesn't make any sense for an absolute majority of people on Earth Good times
Comment from : @mledkov

@jaimiecarels5863
How is the timemore 064s €700 right now? Was contemplating getting the DF54 but the sound threw me off But for half the price?
Comment from : @jaimiecarels5863

@niallwildwoode7373
Some people have too much money to waste Having gone from the spice mill on my NutriBullet to a £50 KinGrinder P2, my coffee has moved to as great as I need it
Comment from : @niallwildwoode7373

@karasong7701
Now that I'm rewatching this for the 3rd time, he noted for both conical grinders (Lagom and Niche) that he wuld push them finer Idk what to learn from that, but it's something to notebrbrPlus, the DF64 G2 being noted as kinda a typical flat burr profile is nice Makes me think that it's a nice grinder to invest inbrbrNow I want his opinion on the Mazzer Philos
Comment from : @karasong7701

@nathanielblakney9306
Can you do a cheap grinder review ?
Comment from : @nathanielblakney9306

@indulgentquagmire
Question, how much should a single household person earn in order to afford these?
Comment from : @indulgentquagmire

@mathevideos9909
Please compare the df64 to the df54 I would really like to know your opinion!
Comment from : @mathevideos9909

@joshhodges3252
I like that this was one part workflow, 1 part science, and 1 part "details that make me angry"
Comment from : @joshhodges3252

@JoeSchafer-u7y
Out of all the grinders above I like the DF64 Gen 2 the best Not too stoked on their sketchy websites or the billows But it's perfect for my morning espresso
Comment from : @JoeSchafer-u7y

@hbr6545
I dont wanna be picky but since these tests are about that, being picky, should you be using clean spoons for each coffe taste to avoid flavour cross contamination? Also, cleaning palat with water or something before tasting the next one should be something you do brAnyway great video, just my prespective on how you could improve these tests Good job
Comment from : @hbr6545

@mencken8
Oh, under 500 quid? The essence of affordability in yer coffee appliances!
Comment from : @mencken8

@bartbtsful
So rather not choose the Niche if you also would like to make a filter coffee? Why is that?
Comment from : @bartbtsful

@nessviggo
@James : If I want something better than the Rancillio Rocky for Chemex, what would you recommend? I do a max of 36 g grind, I use 28 grind bron the Rocky, so quite fine Top priority is as even grind as possible Budget is 800 GBP or less Thanks!
Comment from : @nessviggo

@martymartin2894
The price of this coffee equipment is extortionate They already know that coffee snobs have too much money
Comment from : @martymartin2894

@xspierings3162
Too bad the niche in Europe is now a 800euro grinder thanks to brexitthat makes it less competitive outside of the uk
Comment from : @xspierings3162

@anthonym6078
lol dang it, now every time i hit the bellows on my DF grinder im gonna hear that clown horn sound🎉
Comment from : @anthonym6078

@Finance-Food-and-Freetime
This is so hilariously technical Great work!
Comment from : @Finance-Food-and-Freetime

@Ethan-sh4rh
How does the varia vs3 compare to these? I was going to get one for 300 USD
Comment from : @Ethan-sh4rh

@billhendrix4125
I currently have a Sette 270Wi It has worked well for me but as you said, it’s just so loud! I thought about getting the X54 because it’s so quiet Just not sure about going to single dose Most days I only do two shots If I have friends over, maybe 4 or 5 back to back Is there a grinder as quiet as the X54, but fast too and can be programmed by time or weight that would be accurate?
Comment from : @billhendrix4125

@Zoanodar
The timemore is now €799 🤯
Comment from : @Zoanodar

@danjv
Yes James, let's be friends!brI'm not charmed by the Niche and I like bellows 😂
Comment from : @danjv

@luzyennimunozbello1187
🇸🇪😔
Comment from : @luzyennimunozbello1187

@stevenjohnson891
I love the data analysis and the particle size analysis you do here The technical parts are the best parts of life
Comment from : @stevenjohnson891

@jeremiahchamberlin4499
Thanks for helping me determine my next grinder I like the quietness and power of the Eureka products, and their espresso-focused burr sets; I’m disappointed that they don’t interchange with other manufacturer’s products, but at this point in my journey, it isn’t as big a factor for me as it is for youbrThe Timemore products interested me, but the lack of a dedicated espresso burr set bothered me, although, as a practical matter, would likely suffice, and its price point is extremely attractive
Comment from : @jeremiahchamberlin4499
