You’re incorrect on liability the equipment is in their name they even have the branding on the sidebrThe only way they can mitigate liability is with policies and training but I think a good catastrophic injury attorney can get past that Comment from : @markntexas8265 |

Lease purchase is a scam!!!! I repeat a scam !!!!! do not ever do this to yourself i have been driving local regional and some otr for about 5 years hauling all of the 4 most common trailers and recently jumped into a lease purchase big mistake the upfront cost and responsibility is not worth it if you were considering giving it a shot thinking that you could possibly be the 1 that succeeded with a lease purchase listen to me and the rest of the trucking industry and save yourself some debt and stress The only people advocating a lease purchase are the carriers If you have a family that depends on you and bills to pay save your money and go to your bank or find a program similar to loan mountain Comment from : @jatwaunmurphy3568 |

Heres my take on leasing you guys under cut yourself because of this one major factor you dont add is your CPM!? Once you know what it cost to run your business there should be know way you should be accepting frieght for nothing less than your CPM period My CPM is minimuim 330 a mile Based on that any rate thats less than this im working for nothing and I should get out the game or go back to company driver🤔 Comment from : @infinitedarkmind8864 |

This guys math just isn't mathin out Not even close His first mistake was off by over $5,000 Another one is saying owner op truck payment is $1500/mo Are you comparing an old used truck to a brand new one here or are you on some kind of 10-15 year loan on that? With math like this he could apply to be the secretary of treasury for joe biden Comment from : @captaincaveman2501 |
Its a business agreement brGoing into any contract requires due diligencebrLeasing falls a highly specific niche for those specifically looking for more control but does not have the liquid funds to become own/op brIt (can be) a stepping stone transition from company to own-opbrDo not become hyper focused on money only brMake sure to conduct your due diligence on all aspects of your career If the money is better, but youre not mentally built for other aspects of full ownership (or dont have the experience) going straight from company to full own just might be really bad for you Comment from : @tradways |

These major “trucking” companies are actually “truck dealerships” It’s like McDonald’s has said they are a real estate company, not a “restaurant” They prey on doe eyed people that have great intentions and sell them their trucks The operations of booking loads, training, etc is just to get people to buy their trucks This is not opinion or conspiracy, it’s a well known business model Comment from : @diminaband |
This guy seems to be worried about how much a company is making off of you who cares as long as you're making more money than you would have had at a regular company that you're just driving for Comment from : @moderngunguy3666 |

The lease is an EXPENSE on the books just like fuel How are you not using the tax incentive Your should finance to get double write offs on depreciation✌️🇺🇸 Comment from : @FBombs4All |
The moment he made a blanket statement like leases are scams is exactly when rookies should stop listeningbrbrHow about this?brbrDo the research and crunch the numbers yourself brbrAll leases are not the same All carriers, contracts, and divisions are differentbrbrThe best all around deal for rookies is most likely Prime running reefer while trainingbrbrI've seen the settlements The money is 100 realbrbrHowever, that truck will be pretty much shot by the time you finish the lease Comment from : @AWesker99 |
19000- 8000 for fuel is 11000 not 6000 Comment from : @RogieBarrow-fi7tc |
What is the better way? Comment from : @missmotives6410 |
Couple of points herebrbr1 If you're using their truck, with no credit check and no down payment, they absolutely deserve a cut and are not absolved of liability at allbrbr2 There is nothing wrong with them wanting to make money and spend less Especially if it allows you to make more money than if you were a company driverbrbr3 If you're only getting 6 mpg, you're doing it wrong, with the wrong equipment Comment from : @ndavis265 |

In the current market, and future for that matter, any lease is asinine You can make the same or better at a good 1099 company, especially if it is a 6mo gig, without all the other bs Now a young single hard running kid with goals for their own truck? Like you said do multiple 6mo blocks Comment from : @sword-and-shield |
Stay away from Lone Mountain for used trucks I bought two from them, both were lemons and bankrupted me Comment from : @WestcoastWallyDriver |

so the landstar model is if you already own a truck and trailer, correct? and is landstar a lease to own outfit? been a driver for almost 40 years always seemed like the wrong time to dabble in the OO side of trucking (always scared always hearing horror stories)now at 63 I am looking for something much better for the time I have left until I cant do the job! Great video Comment from : @cyberdude721 |
Don't you wish that you knew what you were talking about Comment from : @truckerboss84 |
Your numbers are wrong You also use Landstar but you apparently don’t know how they pay Landstar pays their drivers 75 of the load if you use your own trailer 65 if you use their trailer So saying you own the trailer means that $300 per mile load actually pays $225 per mile If you use their trailer its $195 per mile You will also find yourself dead heading more for companies like Landstar Those miles you don’t get paid for Comment from : @JackFletcher-w4z |
Exactly right! Scam Comment from : @keith3694 |
You are not making very good drivers pay! I'm talking about lease purchase period They are designed to cause you to fail! Comment from : @keith3694 |

Why you even lease ? Truck never be yours what the stupid thing to do Comment from : @DropDeckTrucker |
Counting the companies pockets as an excuse is weak At the end of the day every business is trying to make money I think what they’re paying you for lease to own is low though to be fair Comment from : @israeldiaz3486 |
You make a lot of sense but I think people go lease purchase because they don’t have the money to go get your own truck Comment from : @limbanimkorongo319 |
Thank you for sharing Comment from : @jupj1 |

I think lease purchase programs from major trucking companies are rip offs all these major carriers are doing is making money off of you Comment from : @erazco6568 |
I feel like only way you can make money as a lease operator if you go with a company that pays percentage line Jb hunt and they also do a fuel surcharge If you go with a company that pays by the mile at like $110 that’s a setup for failure or having to run without home time lol Comment from : @reesiemula |
