How should one combine this with eg Kolb's learning types and the types of players in gamification-theory? Wouldn't that lead to a too complex system, yet nescessary to address all the different traits of each individual learner?
Could you please post here a set of scientific articles showing the effectivenes of these 3 learning styles? Because, some authors say it's a myth and there's no evidence supporting the effect of teaching in three ways This confuses me Comment from : @ronleunissen |

Great question I think that would be the next level of learning once someone really masters the four but if someone felt they wanted to jump in and learn those right away, I think a good idea Comment from : @CBPSynergy |

@CBPSynergy First, studies have discrepant results because experimenters put varying amounts of emphasis on different important variables, or they make errors that are corrected in later studies Nonetheless, a person can look at all the different studies and see the overall pattern of results If 200 studies say one thing, and only 5 say another, that's not discrepant, that's obvious When learning style studies are viewed this way it's obvious from the results that learning styles don't help Comment from : @chrismca |

@chrismca - kind of sounds like some professors I know that are not earning a lot of money and questioning sales professionals and business owners who are earning 10 times as much as they are, for evidence to support their position I guess results are evidence enough for those earning the money that something works Comment from : @CBPSynergy |
|
@chrismca-I think you are maybe confusing beliefs with experiences You have experiences that lead you to think that somehow stats will prove truth when in reality you can find stats to support almost any position you desire to take I think a great question may be to ask would be what stats/evidence to you have to support your belief that learning styles don't work and/or that you need stats to support anything Those who are earning money due to these and other things kind of laugh at this Comment from : @CBPSynergy |

Results of valid, empirical observations of the effects of learning styles on students are clear The use of learning style information has no effect, or sometimes a harmful effect on learning Clearly, folks behave unethically when they take peoples time and/or money and don’t provide any evidence on whether an investment in learning styles is a just use of scarce resources
So I'd challenge the person in this video, Can you offer any valid evidence that it actually help us? Comment from : @chrismca |
