I have a degree in music from one of the best music schools in the country I’m a classically trained percussionist and a bit of a theory nerd Have taken plenty of aural skills classes I can even dictate 4 part harmonies (okay well I used to be able to lol) but SINGING harmonies is a whole other ball game

I can Identify notes that will harmonize to the music But once the other instruments/voice gets a litte louder, I will get lost So most of the time if the other voice gets louder, I do the one octave higher or lower Still sounds good

I think of harmony like singing a chord together If I sing C, the the other person can sing E or G If there were three people you could sing C the next person E and the third person G Does that makes sense?

I can sing melodies, no problem, but I've never been able to learn how to harmonize when it's just me trying to do the harmony notes Definitely going to really, really, really work at it, though, as I absolutely love harmonies; plus I wrote a song a few months ago and if I'm gonna put it out there, there absolutely must be harmonies in it!
